That's the spirit. "Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans," right?

So I am trying a new strategy to the waiting game... hahaha...

Forget about it!!

Seriously it is working great...LOL Having fun unloading the burden of junk in my house. Having a great time with my daughter who cracks me up to no end.... who knew almost 11 yr olds could come up with some of the stuff she comes out with...hahaha

I am only online at work .. and the time I see my husband... other than that... forget this worrying crap... whats the point.. it does not make it happen any sooner than it is supposed to.

So bring on the months... I have a life to live whether he is here or not!!

Yes. Be sure to read the instructions though. No, you don't need to go to Buffalo to land, since you (would) have your visa in-hand (haha, that rhymes!). You just head for the border (closest port of entry). Make sure you research well where and when to go and what documents to take with you.

Thanks for the info. Just in case anyone else is wondering, I called CIC and was informed that the Fort Erie location in Ontario is actually just a proxy to make it cheaper for Canadians to mail off the passport. It's a PO Box, and the mail gets forwarded to the Buffalo location, so it goes to the same place in the end.

One more question regarding bringing her belongings over. I read somewhere she needs to compile a list of all the items she's bringing. How detailed does this have to be? Can she just say "Christmas ornaments" or does she have to say "12 red ornaments, 2 christmas lights..." etc...

lol, no, no need to count how many of your ornaments are red and how many green. Make a comprehensive but fairly general list of everything you'll be taking in and that is all they expect of your "goods to follow" list. Landing should be a very easy and fast process, *especially* compared to the not so easy and not so fast process of applying for and waiting for PR. If you want, you can post in the Buffalo thread to get people's experiences.

My experience was kind of weird. I mailed a lot of my stuff "general delivery" Priority Mail to a USPS in Vermont, came into Canada (Montreal) on Amtrak (had the CAQ only at that point) with a few suitcases, arrived at my husband's apartment, then went to pick up my stuff from the post office in Vermont, getting my study permit at the POE going back into Canada. We explained what we did regarding the stuff and the BO didn't get it at first. Well, I thought I'd be frugal and save some money by not paying the Priority Mail international fees. :p

Hey Maybies.. ;D ;D ;D

Beautiful rainy, windy, wet, cold day out there... ::)

@spicymum... I wish I could work overtime... unfortunately I already work longer than anyone else in my dept and they are not willing to give me anymore time... although its ok... I work overtime when I get home...hahaha

So my toilet seat is broken, the furnace is not working and 1 smoke alarm that I just put a new battery in 2 days ago is beeping again already... and the new one the landlord put in yesterday was beeping all night too... and guess where that sucker is...yes...right outside our bedroom doors... NOT a good sleep last night. and had to turn on the oven for heat...gotta love government housing... where your frozen a$$ slides off the toilet as the seat roams around immediately when you sit on it... hahaha

You may ask.. why did you not call the landlord to fix the furnace?? Well.. considering they were just in yesterday to "inspect" the furnace (that means simply changing the filter apparently) I thought they would have caught the fact that my house could freeze ice cubes and the fan did not turn on to blow the warm air (they did not even try to turn it on) .... but apparently common sense is not required for government employees.. (ok.. SOME employees, no offense to any on this forum... :p)

As for the toilet seat... my daughter almost made me pee my pants when I came in and found the toilet seat duct taped to the toilet last night ;D :p

Yes... this is MY life... hahahahaha

My MP email my husband this morning:

"I wanted to let you know that we received an email from the Canadian Embassy in Manila this morning. It says that your wife’s visa application has been recently finalized and will be sent via courier shortly. Visa validity will be to May 8, 2012"

At last.. my application for pr has been approved. I am just waiting for my visa and passport :)

So they had your passport for almost three months, huh? Congratulations! Hope you get the visa quickly so you can land.

Congrats Blestcheche.....

Quick question anyone, so when they send the email for PPR request,or additional infor request or Interview , do they send both parties - in my case my spouse the sponsor and myself the applicant???

The principal applicant will receive the passport request, and I don't believe the sponsor is notified. However, the sponsor is notified in the event of a refusal. I don't think the sponsored party hears from CIC if the application is denied - it would be up to their sponsor to inform him or her.
