No, they won't return your application. But I believe it's always to an applicant's advantage if they take the IELTS.

Fahim as of now only the 3rd May applicants have had their CCs charged. You easily have another two weeks to go.

You probably can. I've read somewhere in this forum that somebody submitted different documents such as passports and a family tree. I just don't know if it worked for the applicant.

Hi Guys,
As far as I know, proof of relationship is highly contentious betwwen the applicant and the IO. The required documents stated in the guide are just PR card/Citizens card/Canadian passport and utility bills in Canada (Mortgage, rentals, electricity, gas etc).

However, the IO will ask for birth certicates of the applicant and the relation to establish genuine family ties. It could be very frustrating sometimes. One is not also sure of the economic capability of the relation. If it is possible to to ignore this point and seek the five points from other selection factors, the better.

Hope this will be of help.

Best wishes.

I have got a confusion. It is stated in the CIC website that one should strictly follow what is instructed on the Guide. And i have not seen any place in which it is mentioned that one should send IELTS or any letter of explanation as to why they didn't send one to get enough points. I know that they had made a ministerial announcement on April 10th - but no such information was updated in the Guide on CIC website.

So, its very easy to be confused. I know a lot of candidates who just didn't know about the April 10th notice and submitted the application without IELTS result or any letter of explanation. Now, can CIO "legally" ignore an application of that nature, since their guide is not updated with their latest announcement.

Anybody have any idea

so there is no one who can claim to use any doc (other than birth cert) for relationship proof.
has anyone gone through complete process and provided only passport or citizenship copy or house copy or utility bills etc.

HI Yoboy,

One document which you can show in the place of birth certificate is National Identity Card for you and your brother as both will have the same father name and also the high school certificates which have the father name.

Hope this helps!
