Dear all,
What is the difference between these two lines (as some have no.1 and others no.2 in their e-case status)?

1. We reviewed your application and sent you a letter on October xxx, 2010.
2. We reviewed your application and sent you a letter on October xxx, 2012.

P.S. Mine shows no.1 (i.e. 2010).

new changes...............

They might come out with new NOC list on July 1st and there will be a single queue for each NOC with MI-1 applications in the front.
If your NOC is not on the list, your application may not even get processed. This can be good news for some (if your NOC is in the new list).

For example if NDVO has 10K applications (MI1 - MI3) now, and their quota is 8K, these 8k visas will be given to approved NOCs in MI - MI3 and MI4. After processing the approved NOC applications, they might look at other applications.

If my NOC is not required, or not in the list, I have very less hope of getting the visa.

All - Please share your opinion.

Today, Minister Kenney announced two additional changes that will help transform Canada's immigration system. One proposed change would help CIC ensure FSW applicants meet current labour market needs. It would allow new rules set out in Ministerial Instructions to apply to people who have already submitted an application. For example, instructions could place a priority on a specific occupation, such as doctors, and have existing applications from doctors processed first, regardless of where they are in the queue.

A similar change would allow new regulations, once approved, to apply retrospectively to people who have already submitted an application. These changes would help ensure that immigrants are chosen based on Canada's current needs and priorities.

I can find two things from those two paragraphs;

a) unlike their recent system, they might give priority to those applicants who have applied in MI-1 then to MI-3, for example, if they need doctors they will see to the same applicants first to MI-1 then to MI-3.

b) I mean if they mean to issue visa based on recent job demand list, what does that 29 NOC list which they already declared as on demand list. I mean out of that 29, how can still they be choosy for further priority, unless they mean to reduce the NOC from this July. In other words, if they set NOC list from july, that should mean all of them NOCs are in demand and should be treated equally. Also I feel they might remove CAP system.

I dont know I am just guessing

Hi GUys,
Few questions -
1. Got a letter from the canadian office Detroit. They requested the right to permanent residence fee USD 490. I have applied for me and my wife for canadian PR. My question is i have to submit just USD 490 or USD 980 ?
2. Does any one know how long it takes to get FBI clearance in the US ? If yes what is the best way to get it done ?
3. How long does it take to get the PCC from the Indian embassy at Washington DC ?

Any help will be highly appreciated.

Thanks
Desiguy79

For 1.
What stage r u in? why are they asking for any money? Didn't you give the money along with ur application? I am not sure about this one
for 2.
http://www.fbi.gov/about-us/cjis/background-checks
this is the url for fbi clearance and is the best way to apply (of course if you are not a GC holder or US citizen) but if u have GC or US citizenship then you will have other expedited option). The normal procedure generally takes around 5 to 6 weeks.
for 3.
PCC from washington is certainly the most frustrating task. It took me and my husband 3 months, 4 trips to washington from North carolina, around 50 emails and many personal confrontations and requests to get PCC.
One tip - just don't try to bribe them, they are lazy but not corrupt.

But again if ever you renewed ur passport in USA or by any luck have any record of ur passport in washington Indian embassy, then PCC can be obtained in 2-3 days.

I went through the publication and what I make out from it is that they are going to give priority to the applicants who come under the category which is currently in demand. Let us assume on July 1st 2012 they require a dentist. So the dentist who applied in May 2010 will get priority over a software engineer applied at the same time. So ppl like me might have to wait a little longer as compared to applicants in priority lists.

Lets consider another angle - on July 1st 2010 CIC changed all the categories and set a limit over each category limiting number of applicants each year. We are among the last ones out of the so called backlog applicants as CIC already have refused to process pre 2008 applications. And ppl among us getting MRs and in process statuses. So I don't think there is going to be any significant impact on any applications as after our batch there will be no backlog left.

Hi seniors. My file was transferred out of buffalo 2 weeks ago. Transferred to LA. Does that mean my my application was scrutinized already? Or is it LA that would do that. Any idea how long the entire process may take again? Submitted my application may 2010. Buffalo acknowledged my application june 2011. Thats my timeline. Ty.

Ur Right Payal...we are not in Backlog cauz they refuse to process pre 2008 application.
Second things they have Enough Quota like new delhi...
total quota of FSW file is approx 8000.
or total Inventory is Approx 11000,
these dayz they are rejecting more files to meet inventory .

Hi, experts:
I am may applicant, my application changed to In process with line of " your application were reviewd and started process on April 13, 2012."
Today, I recived a call from Buaffalo visa office asking me why I have filed refugee calim in Canada.
I have made this claim in May 2011 as result of war and fear of return to my country.
They asked me this claim will make troubles to me down the road. They asked me if I want to continue with my PR application or not?

My calim for refugee was accepted at CIC office and refered to IRB and I wait for my hearing. when I applied for refugee, I told the immigration officer that I have PR application and my status in Canada is study permit. He said that is okay, you can have the two application in the same time since the refugee application is not PR. Only those acceptted by IRB can apply for PR under protected person.

I need to call back Buffalo VO and address their question. How I can answer thier question without effecting my PR application?
Please experts let me know your opinion.
Thanks

I personally feel that the files who are in IP or verification calls or with MR are in the que to get visa. I think thats what they did with pre 2008 as well. They may get delay for sure, but not cancelled like 2008 onces.

With The two new rules Kenney wants to Implement

Its not whether we will get the Visa or not the Question is WHEN

Last weeks discussion of battered NOC List some how does not feel unfounded since yesterday
