Question Regarding Calculating Points for "Work Experience" section

Fello Forum visitors,

I have question on calculating points for my PR application. Highly appreciate if you can provide some inputs.
I have submitted application for federal Skilled worker under NOC code 0213 in May 2010.
I had two years of full time expereince of NOC code 0213 and 6 years of full time experience of NOC code 2171. (all expereinces are in last 10 years).
While submitting the application, only NOC 0213 was under the qualified occupation list (38 occupations) to apply for PR.
I would like to understand while calculating points for Work expereince section, if I will be awarded 21 points (for having 4+ years experiences in skill type 0, A or B) or if I will be awarded with only 17 points (for having 2+ years of expereince for the NOC code for which application was filed).

Appreicate your help.

Thank you,

Hi,

Points are only given for working in position where your NOC is 0213 in your case (in others where your skill/NOC is on demand list).

Because 2171 isn't on the demand list you don't get any points there. So you will get 17 points for 2 years of work experience.

sorry i don't agree with u here bcz on CIC web site is has been clearly mentioned.
For your application to be eligible for processing, you must:

include the results of your official language proficiency test, AND
have a valid offer of arranged employment, OR
have one year of continuous full-time paid work experience in at least one of the occupations listed here.
Work experience requirements

Your work experience must be:

for at least one year, continuous, and paid (full-time or the equivalent in part-time), AND
Skill Type 0 (managerial occupations) or Skill Level A (professional occupations) or B (technical occupations and skilled trades) on the Canadian National Occupational Classification (NOC) list, AND
within the last 10 years.
so according to their criteria he will get 21 points not 17 points.

I also agree with Asif....

Canada 2011,

You will get 21 points for 4+ years of experience.

You can file the case for having 1+ year of experience under FSW....

I also think he will be getting 21 points.

All 29 occupations in the new NOC list will have the same processing times. I just thought that chefs, specifically, would have priority over the others. If that was the case, I would start taking cooking lessons immediately. :D :D :D

I have heard not a happy thing - most Canadians go on vacation in july-august, so there might be a slow down in processing at this time.

I hope we aren't too badly affected by it. Keep your fingers crossed.

im expecting results within this weekend or next week.........hope there is no delay :-X

70 days are gone
seems that few more to go
for deduction of money from credit card
hopefully end of this wk or start of next wk
we will read few success stories in may forum
best of luck for every one

Hi All,

1st AOR from CIC will take about 60-90 Days, but you can prepare the full document set so you don't waste your time in arranging documents like PCC.

Have passions & keep praying.......

All the very best
