hi guys,

my CC was charged on 18th of august and today i got email from them.

"You have indicated that you have work experience in occupations with the following NOC codes: 2173- Software Engineer, Software Analyst, Software Developer, Trainee Software Engineer, 2147- Research Assistant. These occupations are not included on the list of eligible occupations specified in the instructions identified by the Minister of Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism and published in the Canada Gazette on 28 November 2008.

For the reasons outlined above, your application does not meet the requirements of the Ministerial Instructions and your application is not eligible for processing
."

they are saying only http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/apply-who-instructions.asp#list NOC are valid for visa, am wondering where is the NOC code for Software engineers ? when i applied NOC 2173 was there.

There was only one NOC 0213 Informations System Manager

but this is on in the list http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/apply-who-instructions.asp#list

they clearly mentioned in email that

"You have not indicated in your application that you have an Arranged Employment Offer or that you are legally residing in Canada for at least one year as a Temporary Foreign Worker or an International Student. Your application has therefore been assessed on the basis of whether you have work experience in the list of occupations eligible for processing. These occupations are identified by codes and described in the National Occupational Classification (NOC). You may access the list of eligible occupations at: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/apply-who-instructions.asp#list "

am confused they just rejected my application just b'z of NOC ?

thanks,
piyush

Piyush, another member had the same issue. Software Engineer was removed from preferred occupation list during 2008 changes. Only option for IT folks was NOC 0213 - IT Manager. Now that is also removed. So doors are closed for IT people through FSW1. If you want to apply you can go through arranged employment category.

Sorry about that.

Hi,

You application is not eligble for FSW class, because you didn't have at minimum experience (1 year) in on one of 38 occupations that were on FSW list.

That's what CIO says:

These occupations are not included on the list of eligible occupations specified in the instructions.....

There was only one NOC for IT people, that was 0213 IT Managers. In the new list even that is removed.
