Hi
I'm a Malaysian single mom with 13 year old twins. My boyfriend is a Canadian living in London, Ontario. We have been in a relationship for the past 1.5 years and plan to marry. I plan to move to Canada with my twins.

My question is:
1. How to I apply for PR? Do I apply before or after marriage?

2. Where is it best to get married, Malaysia or Canada?

3. How long does the whole process take?

Thank you.

1. Since you will be applying as a married person, you must wait until after you are married.
2. Wherever is most convenient for you. As long as it's a legal marriage, you're fine.
3. The Canadian government estimates that most applications for PR take approximately 12 months. It can take more or less, depending on the specifics of each case.
