I am unmarried and I'm going to immigrate to Canada. I've heard that married applicants have a privilege over unmarried. Is it right?

Not really, except they can get additional points for adaptability based on spouses education, work, schooling, relatives in Canada.

Has to be married spouse or common/law spouse. (living together as man and wife for at least 1 year, not married, or if gay, have a same sex partner)
