Yeah thats what I was talking about, jumping through Mexican beaurcacy hoops is not easy task :( Its really really hard to marry a mexican national if you are a foreigner.. My CL is here on a multiple entry visitor visa, pm me if you want to know what we did in detail..Essentially, you need a lot of ties to Mexico.

Also, how old was your fiance when he left Mexico to come to Canada (you don't have to answer that here) You two may want to start preparing for the PGR because it is A LOT of work and the last thing you want is to find out you dont have something you need on that list that will delay your application.

mc1243 - He was 22 when he entered Canada and was here for 10 years illegally. I assume a PGR (?) is for people who where under 18 when the entered and then over-stayed ? I have not ran into that acronym before ... I think immigration-wise his ties to Mexico are a little weak right now as he is still re establishing himself there, he of course has family and his two daughters but has not been continously employed and is residing with family (not on his own), he has been having reverse culture shock from being away from his own country for so long. So he doesnt have good reasoning for returning to Mexico which i believe is a downfall in the vistor visa application.

The US visa may be easier to get as I doubt at all he will be able to get a visa for Canada even after he is aloud to return due to his long over stay and deportation in the past, perhaps a vegas wedding it is (Good idea Jamgirl!)

Based on what you said, I think getting a visitor visa would be hard, but you never know (since he has a spousal application now in proccess, things might be different) It doesnt hurt to try.

ahhh police check, yes we have completed it and was sent off with our package so that is done. He only ever lived in Jalisco so that part was fairly easy. He never was with the military, would he still require the liberada ?

Noo I am not talking about the state one, I am talking about the federal (whole different ball game) They will request it from you a few months after you submit your application.. The military card is required.. before all that was needed was a precartilla (takes less than a week to get) now a full liberation (2 years to get) is apparently needed.. I would make this a main focus.. look over at the Mexico board, a lot of us are in similar situations.

Absolutely, I agree, we may as well try, it would be so nice just for a visit, we are happy to follow the rules so we can have a proper life together, but my family and my daugher and our friends miss him sooo much, so even a week would be so nice ! I go to mexico to see him but not so easy for everyone else !

ooooh my ! I did read alot of the discussion on the mexico board but was very confused, I am getting a better understanding, hmmm well this isnt good for all of us mexico applicants, just when we thought we were finished with trying to find paperwork in Mexico ! Ok, heading over to the Mexico board and going to mention to my lawyer to see what he says about it, they have never mentioned this to us...

Yeah its something very new! We actually flew back to Canada thinking we had everything and now we called them this morning and the confirmed this new rule is true :( It could become a big problem and create a lot of delays, this is the reason I have been stressed all day! Hopefully someone will come up with a solution soon. We will be calling them tomorrow again to find out the new requirements :(

Yeah its the only thing thats changed (from what I know), we called this morning and they said you now need the full cartilla (which makes no sense) is your husband in the same situation nessa?? We are going to call again tomorrow and ask for the NEW requirements because they now leave out a big group of people to get the PGR :(
