Just only my lonely Friday night thoughts

4 years ago I happened to be in the same situation, married to a charming girl, sponsored to Canada, she arrived, looked around and left in six weeks to visit her sick mother in Europe. Later just told me that she did not see any future with me, wanted to live with her mother and friends and a man she loved in Italy….I was graduating student, with a very small salary, rented basement from friends, and did not have even a car… Of course the years were terrible after, I had very strong depression, almost quit my school, started drinking heavily, smoking…hating women blaming everyone around. It was a miracle that I did not lose my job, otherwise likely would end in a shelter...
But, time passed, a friend brought me to the local gym, I started slowly recovering, see people, talk to other girls, meet them outside, date..

In 4 years, I got my salary tripled, graduated my school, moved to the nice apartment, paid off all debts. And I met online again a girl, from my home country, who become my Loved One and we married and I sponsor her and her child to Canada, just finished the paper work, will send the envelop tomorrow.

I know that the risk that the current spouse may leave me again is High, women like money, please do not blame me in sexism but most of the relationship started because of money and ended because of money. That is the nature of two souls joining there is always one who have needs for food, or future for herself or child. I do not judge those poor girls who do everything possible just to escape from the third world poverty. We should blame our governments who do not support democracy and capitalism in those countries, rather supporting dictators and communist governments. Look at Mexico for example, USA could easily change government there and create conditions for Mexicans to live with dignity, instead of having a headache with illegal immigrants.

And I want to blame ourselves, sponsors… Before signing those papers we should think twice before taking so much responsibility of sponsorship, as we do not know that person enough and may be we are not qualified for relationship, for family. Look at those guys of 50 ties sponsoring 20 years old girls models of different ethnic, background, language and culture… of course they would become alone in 5 years as these girls as I said would play any sex games just to get to Canada, but soon after PR is given they would leave asap, taking money and breaking hearts.

That woman from Ontario, waitress she should have known that international marriages are successful only if there is a strong financial support, when you have money, life does not seem to be difficult and you can make gifts, and travel and make someone happy, but when you do not have money or you lose your job, all the dark side of your soul comes. That woman she married a man of different culture, nationality, language and habits because she was lonely, she was in need for love, for someone who would treat her as a girl. Unfortunately she does not understand that foreign man from the third world country expects totally different look, personality and behavior of his ideal girl. Canadian women, please forgive me, You are not the right fit for those males, way too much of cultural difference. So when YOU sponsor Nigerian or Cuban males, please look at the mirror first, you are not a Hollywood stars, if you weren’t able to attract local Canadian guys, you have no chances to find yours abroad. And when you think you found one, you must be a fitness trainer with a culinary degree and driving BMW. The same can be referred to guys – sponsors…be ready to spent lots of money.

As about myself, I’d rather take a risk and sponsor my spouse, just do not want to spend weekends in my office escaping from loneliness…

I'll take that last post at face value. Not sure the rest here will . . . prepare for an "onslaught". OR take the mind set of "you have said your piece", and don't look back for rebuttals.

I am not sure what this says about him or the spouse that married him from another country? *giggles, shakes her head and walks away*

Just breaks my heart to hear these stories. I honestly don't know what I would have done had my husband done that to me. I am so thankful he is an honest man of integrity. Sadly I know a woman from Cuba who did the same thing although the Canadian man she married was insanely abusive and she had to flee the home with their baby a while later. She is now waiting till her daughter is 16 and they are heading back to Cuba.....so figures that her lying to get here would end up with her desperate to return to the place she fled from with a man that will do anything to keep his daughter from leaving to live there. ::)

I truly hope there is something that can be done to catch these guys and bring some justice to these women and to people everywhere sponsoring true, genuine relationships.
Agreed, sometimes the scam is that they were abused and had to leave the Sponsor as their excuse to not look bad in everybody else's eyes. To collect welfare and whatever else they can get. Later re marry their spouses and bring them here and happily ever after for them after they use the backs of Canadians to get here. Karma is a good friend though and what goes around comes around for these scammers eventually. Hopefully the 2 year conditional can re voke their status and send them back.If this ever happened to me. I would not let this go ever until I got the person out of the country and the person would wish he never met me. (((((((((Sending healing hugs to all that are affected))))))))) My heart breaks for you. XOXOXO God Bless </3 :'(

So my friend's husband arrived from Cuba a few weeks ago. And it turns out he's a complete and total fraud. She applied on Oct 23rd...and the new conditional PR law only came into effect on Oct 25th. Is she completely out of luck and just has to hope he doesn't go on welfare in the next 3 years...or is it possible she could be protected by the new law?

This is crazy

WOW !!! I cannot believe what that person just wrote.... this has to be a joke! You attempt at sponsoring not one but two women from another country,
and you have the nerve to question others. You have the sheer rudeness to question us. You assume we're all unattractive and lonely. I've got news for you. I'm sure
I'm not alone when I say we have no problem attracting people in our own country. Have you ever considered the fact that we happened to meet someone from another
country and simply fell in love. No one,, I repeat.. no one would ever jump into this immigration process without a lot of thought and love behind the relationship. Excuse me,
I'm sure there are those out there, and thus the reason for the time immigration puts into making sure these relationships are legit. Please, for the love of God, think before
you simply start typing rude and insulting comments to those going through this long, frustration process for the sake of love.

I think a big problem is that so many Canadians won't actually spend a significant amount of time in their spouse's home country to get to know him/her. I think a lack of willingness on the sponsor's part to learn about the spouse's culture is a little insulting. It reeks of arrogance and a certain: "...People from (x country) are very sexy but I wouldn't want to spend more than a couple of weeks in that yucky Third world home country of theirs." As a Canadian, it's generally quite easy to get visas to other countries so why not spend a year or so and discover everything there is to know about your partner??? I spent 4 years in China, and 2 years married to my spouse. Living in China has been amazing but not as cozy as home, but I have been learning so much about my spouse and even discovering things about myself. I think it's crucial and personally wish there was a mandatory time living in the same country quota for PR sponsorships.

As for the poster a few messages above who got everyone's knickers in a knot, I must say that money does play a role. Many women from abroad place a lot of concern onto longterm security, mostly not out of greed but for family stability. Money and extramarital affairs are the top reasons given for divorce. In addition, a Canadian fishing for a husband/bride in a less fortunate country will receive a lot of interest, and meet potential suitors who are better looking than what they could find in Canada. That is just the way it is. This is why you can go to x and see an uber hot girl with a wrinkly old western man or go to x and see a very handsome young man holding the hand of a wrinkly old western woman. Some of these relationships are real, but many are not and the Canadian spouse is just kidding him/herself. That said, it is a risk we all take, no matter the country or the age difference. However, the payoff of a genuine, life long partner is huge!

But I didn't say that, the other guy did *points up* You quoted me and started ranting earlier so I wondered why you were ranting at me about 6 weeks and such, since I didn't say anything of the sort *shrugs* That is why I asked you what I missed regarding your statement.

Oh no. She wasn't ranting at you. lol Her comment about 6 weeks was in reference to Krushka, as his first sponsored spouse left him after 6 weeks. She was being sarcastic(directed at Krushka not you). Then as he has sponsored two spouses, chickie72(again being sarcastic) asked whether he had a problem attracting Canadian women since he had implied Canadian women were not the right "fit" for their foreign spouses.

Then when you asked what you missed, waitingonforever thought you were asking what you missed in Krushka's comment. So she simply quoted the portion of Krushka's comment she thought you had missed.

So just a misunderstanding. :D

It's sad that people actually get away with it. I'm not wanting to judge by any means. But if I were a Canadian and I'd obviously like to see my spouses country to see their culture and how they live as well.. But I wouldn't stay for long either, it's tough to learn their native language. I had a hard time with English and I certainly did struggle when I moved to the UK as a teenager, but for my boyfriend to come to Denmark and try learn Danish would most likely be torture!

Oh, that makes sense! LOL I just got confused when she quoted me instead of what Krushka said. That was why I asked again. I got Chickies comment without and issue, it was just Waitings that confused me, which I might add, is not all that hard to do lately! :D But thank you for clearing it up for me because I was wondering what I had done to Waiting to make him/her so angry with me! LOL
