hi again everyone!

To all my fellow Filipino.

They say that you can only get your marriage certificate authenticated by the National statistics office after 6 months, is it true?

let say the wedding is today July,i can only get the marriage certificate on January 2015? that's insane. :o :o :o

what did you submit to the embassy when you applied for spousal sponsorship?

or is there a way to shorten the 6 months period?
i hope somebody could enlighten me.
salamat po. thank you. :D

Actually, that's true. Its THAT long. I waited for 6 months. But, upon months of lurking around the forum, I learned that you can submit the NSO paper marriage certificate at a later date, granting that you submit either a: copy of marriage certificate (the one from the local civil registry office) or an advisory on marriages (from nso). That is what I know, but then again, ask people from the Manila thread for confirmation. :)

That is not true. I got ours after four weeks (I think). We got married in January of 2013 and was able to file the sponsorship in February.

Tama. Lahat nadadaan sa under the table transactions, lalong lalo na sa nso. Kung sa tamang daan ka, be prepared na lang to wait a long time.

Hello Kabayan, yan po yung standard sa atin sa Pinas. Pero there's a fastest way without paying "under the table". Just tell the Officiant/Solemnizing Officer to have your Marriage Certificate (MC) under Advanced Endorsement, since you will need it ASAP for immigration purposes, you will get your NSO copy of MC in one month or 3 weeks. Just ask na lang po the procedure ng advanced endorsement in your local civil registry (LCR) kasi iba iba naman ang procedure per LCR. And just follow up na lang kasi minsan, may kabagalan talaga sa atin .That's what i did :)

Good for you! Iba-iba din talaga tayo ng naeexperience dahil wala talagang sistema and and standards ay hindi nasusunod.. Ayan mrs.arc! may swerte ka at may nagsuggest nito. :)

Kabayan that is not true in all cases. The next working day after the wedding we advise the local civil registrar to endorse the cert right away to NSO. We told them our plan to apply for PR for Canada. After 5 weeks we got our cert from NSO without paying extra... :)

No, the marriage certificate wont take too long.... depending where you get married,
a good lawyer can get it done in a couple of weeks.....

what takes time is the advisory on marriages.... it takes 6 months....
but we did not wait for it...
we send the CENOMAR instead... and just this week we apply for the advisory on marriages,
and if Manila Visa Office request it we are ready to send it...
It did not make any sense to us to wait 6 months to complete all the documents,
and everything went fine...
If they request it we are ready to provide it...

When your MC is under Advanced Endorsement, you can get the AOM & MC at the same time. I got married last week of Dec 13 and got the MC & AOM in early Feb 2014 without paying extra.

i am married just this year ,, and just about to send papers to CIC... Yes, its true, they will not going to say what you should do to have your marriage certificate soon. I only found out when I already went to main office Nso Manila, super annoying, i found out that i dont have to go NSO Manila to expedite the process,, if i just knew from the start,i only have to tell LCR to have an electronic endorsement when we are still having a seminar before marriage.. LCR in my town is really taking anvantage,, but now finally , my headache is gone ,, i already have it ..i got it after 2 months and 14days after wedding ..

Yeah they won't voluntarily tell you that in LCR. It so happened that i've been googling about marriage certificate processing even before i got married, that's why I came to know about the advanced endorsement thingy. ;)

We did not know that, I got married in December also, and did not care about the AOM, because of the time,
my file was accepted with no problem, now if they ask we have it ready.... but I got approved as sponsor and
then my file went to Manila.... now we are just waiting for the PPR....
