You can pay it in advance if you like and send the payment, but honestly I do not believe that doing so will accelerate the process . In my case, I prefer to wait for them to ask me for the RPRF so I can see that the case is moving even if it does not turn into IP yet. I am a May applicant, status medicals received since June 31st, nothing after that...
As one of the people who have paid without a request, I agree that it will not accelerate the process. My reasoning was to avoid delays instead, as I have heard stories where CIC thought you got the request already or were just waiting for payment of RPRF before continuing processing and the applicants only found out through calling and asking and chasing CIC... My goal was to avoid such a situation

Hi brother
Is this different good for me?
Hi Shovon, sorry about the late reply. It might very well be as satellite visa offices are probably not affected by hold ups that CPC-Ottawa are experiencing. If they have done the work that needs to be done by offices within Canada your process might be faster than the cases of applicants from within Canada.

For example, processing time for Paris visa office is 7 months compared to 17 for Ottawa. Singapore is 32 months in comparison. These differences would not solely exist due to the number of applicants but also due to the different duties/responsibilities that a center such as CPC-Ottawa has compared to satellite/embassy visa offices around the world.

I guess we will see whether it is good or bad different as we wrap this phase of our lives lol

I sent my Criminal Record Check attached to my PR Application (as everyone else does, I guess) in April.
The document were issued by my country in December, more specifically December 19th 2013.

I just realized that they will expired next Friday, and I am not even IP yet!!!!!

This means that probably I will need to ask again these document to my country (and pay for them), send it to the CIC (and pay for the shipping), and see my application be more delayed because they were delayed in first place!

I understand they have a lot of work to do, but let me say that's not fair!! :-X

If this will happen (as probably will be), I will demand an apology! :p

Here I was waiting for my Christmas card from CIC! Who cares about In Process or PPR man.. lol

Jokes aside, I have heard that as long as the PCC is issued within 3 months of application being received they don't usually ask for a new one. But hear-say isn't the perfect reference of course. I am in the same situation and I just requested another PCC just in case. If they ask for it, they will have it the next day. "Ain't nobody got time for that!" as the saying goes... I am not giving CIC a chance to blame me for their delays lol

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. Perhaps I will ask for the new ones at the beginning of January so I will be ready to send it right away when they will ask it.

The only reason why I want to wait before asking a new Criminal Record Check to my country is because I guess they will not need it until I will not be IP, and with the CIC's speed the documents could expire again! :)

I CANNOT RATIONALIZE why CIC, or anyone, would ask for a second copy of a document previously submitted to them (CIC) and received by them (CIC) while the document was still valid. Now, I understand some permanent residency applications take 2+ years... and this would be a matter of the 1. Visa office chosen (if you are inland/overseas applicant) and 2. Immigration category... Thus, such documents (e.g. police certificate) would definitely be expired (some of them have a validity of 3 months) by the time the applications goes into a "processing" status... Again, to me, it would seem IRRATIONAL to ask again for previously submitted valid documents (e.g. police certificate) due to bureaucratic timelines that are out of the applicant's reach.

I am not sure if we just get paranoid with our bothers'/sisters' comments based on their experiences or their relatives'. Every case is different. I am from Mex and according to the CIC web site, my timeline is 18 months (1.5 yrs). However, as I previously posted in this thread, a friend from Mex and PNP nominee too recently obtained his permanent residency. He applied to CIC in January 2014. He received his stamped (Canadian PR visa) passport just this month, Dec 2014. So, having seen my friend go through this experience and based on some of your comments and timelines... I anticipate having my application finalized soon (perhaps end of December, sometime in January, or by late February). This, indeed, is a sooner timeline than the one stated by the CIC web site.

Meanwhile, what can I do? Wait patiently.

I have been vigilant in noticing postings here from March applications since that's when CIC received my application. It seems that everyone's application (March) is moving along with a similar timeline.

Again, these are my personal views and experiences. All I can say to you my friend is to be patient! And wait!!!

Good luck and Happy Holidays!
