Hi! I plan to reapply again this week...Im running out of time...My WP will expire on May 28.....

I applied for OWP two weeks ago online and it didnt ask me any additional form other than Application form to extend my stay, Itinerary, medical results, and digital photos.

I remember the FBI story, your patience is tested time and time again. I know you are feeling frustrated but I wish you the happiness of getting PR and I am sure, you will get it soon.

Buddy, that's what i am saying, since Feb 21 things have changed, any application after Feb 21 need to have a special LMIA exempt form. If you are applying for OWP then you don't need that form.

Hi I need help ... I had three years postgraduate work permit which will b expired in June end.. Do I also need to that LIMA exempt form ... Because I have applied for my work permit extension without that form ... I am worried now...

Does anybody knows why CIC is asking for LMIA assessment? Im a PNP and I sent them a letter of support from my Nominating PRovince, WHy would they asked for that...ANd I thought they can look in their system if the applicant is a PR applicant....This frustrates me alot :'(

Hi Tina,

Sorry to hear about your WP situation. A few quick questions...

1) Are you currently on a BOWP? (if not...)
2) Did you apply for a BOWP within four months of the expiry of your current WP?

I'm trying to figure out why you'd be rejected for a WP.

If all else fails apply for a Study permit and go to school until you get PR - you'll be able to work part-time.

Did your employer fillup the form online and send it or they printed the form and hand it to you? then they paid online too the $230?

Not yet. They are still discussing it with their attorneys'. I am waiting for updates. my WP is expiring in June end.

I think so If you have AOR then you don't need an employer to fill that form for you. You will have to pay $100 extra fee. If you want you can try checking your eligibility and you have to fill the forms which they will ask you .

I dont think there is anythnk to worry. I got a 3rd pcc request even after i submit mine and later they disregarded it. Its all human errors. In your case may be theyve some furnishing left. Atleast they given u a deadline april. Be patient and hope for the best.

April is gone. i called CIC they said it may take until september as processing time is 17 months.
I got my GCMS notes yesterday my application status is on hold and there is no reason given for this.
My criminality, medical and eligibility is passed but security, HIRV and misrepresentation is blank.
I Don't know whats going on my file i am so worried as i have no job at present. My employer was bothering me so i left the job last month.

When i check the eligibility it says that "You May Be Eligible" for OWP. So its all getting really difficult. Also, in the OWP requirement, if you have a AOR from PNP application we need to attach our PNP approval letter as well. And if the PNP approval letter has some Job Restrictions then we are not eligible for AOR. So its a big gamble right now. CIC policies are confusing and CIC officers take their own call based on their own understanding.

When did u got your ip??

I'm a single applicant through BC and I called CIC in march and they said I was in Processing and someone looked at my file March 4th but online it still says AR so not sure what is going on....I might call CIC again and see if there is anything more they can tell me....
