Personally I think (although only a guess) that this is the case, too - we're now about 3.5 years post-covid border restrictions being lifted, a lot of people delayed their arrival/return to Canada until after that. So yep, 3 yrs + is when people have accumulated the physical presence days. Numbers applying for c'ship probably will start to decline gradually some time in 2026.

And even if IRCC were to 'staff up' for this, it would take some time from when they started seeing numbers rise.
Quite logical.

Application sent: 9 March
AOR: 25 March
Tracker invitation: 3 April

It was showing 27 March as last update for me as of yesterday. When I checked today and saw today as last updated. But I have not received any email and there is no update showing in tracker. Anyone know what this might mean?

What does this have to do with anything?
Background checks for citizenship are conducted by RCMP in collaboration with CSIS. With elections in 2 weeks maybe more resources are used towards that. Also with all the things happening with US. Maybe intelligence sharing is also slow. Just saying. I still believe that it is still normal to have BG to pass after test.
