I am in the same situation. I just found out my application is handled by the Vancouver office
My processing office is also Vancouver. Seems they are known to notoriously delay processing.

Or it could be that all or most offices are 'processed' by Vancouver at the background/security stage, and so it's not "Vancouver" that is prone to delays, but the background/security clearances.

My understanding is that all citizenship applications go to Vancouver for LPP so you are probably right. It’s not a coincidence that everyone’s applications seem to be ‘stuck’ at the Vancouver office once they’ve gone past the test and BGC stages.

Hello everyone,

I am now a Canadian Citizen. Applied on March 5, 2025 and took oath on August 5, 2025, and received a paper citizenship certificate for the in-person ceremony. Took 5 months in total.

FYI, LPP still shows in progress on the tracker, Oath shows as not started.

Thank you for all the updates, everyone. I wish everyone good luck and welcome to the Canadian family.

Mine is at the BG stage, and no fingerprints are requested, and is being handled by the Vancouver office.

For me, I am still yet to get my test completion confirmation since I took the test in June 15th. My processing office is also Vancouver. Seems they are known to notoriously delay processing. My friend which we submitted same time in March did her oath ceremony in July and I am just with Background complete since May 30th. Every other is still in progress - including citizenship test which I completed since June.
People keep on saying that the citizenship journey for everyone is different! but since it is a clear process, it shouldn't be.

I called IRCC today to ask why I haven’t received a test invite yet, even though my background check shows as completed. They told me that my security screening is still in progress. But isn’t security screening part of the background check? Why would the background check be marked complete if security is still pending?

Probably got an agent who doesnt really know anything.

There are two parts to the background checks. One is the criminality and the other is prohibition. Maybe the agent meant that prohibition is in progress?

My application was AOR'd on April 3rd and haven't received any updates (ghost or no ghost), I'm 65+ so no test required, and living in Greater Vancouver. I saw some people commented on the Vancouver office is slower, but in my case everything is in progress and nothing is completed. Is this considered normal?
