You can apply as soon as you receive the citizenship certificate. You'll have to wait for the citizenship certificate to arrive by mail.

I read somewhere that the oath takers were given the option to pick up their certificate at their local IRCC office instead of having it mailed to them. Do you know anything about that? :o

I read only one post about that and I think that was Ottawa office.

Mine is with Hfx office. 3+ months since I completed my test and no updates yet. Just frustrating, Halifax is too slow processing applications.

I am from Halifax too and passed test in early April and no updates in 4 months now! I don't understand why Halifax office is so friggin' slow!

Yep. While we are waiting on pins and needles.. I haven't seen my parents in 2 years and I so want to travel to see them but I'm worried if I do that I will miss something or cause a delay ... I've been waiting for so long.. and with no updates or clear timelines it's just so frustrating
I feel you! I'm in a similar situation, haven't seen my family for a long time and this long tedious process doesn't help it. Halifax office please show a sign of life!

That is very frustrating - at least the test is behind you. You could ask your MP to follow up.

I finished my test in March 26 and my office is in Halifax. Still waiting, I might email our MP.

Oh no, failed on-line test

You'll be invited for a re-test. You'll do the test again, this time orally in the presence of IRCC officials over MS teams. The IRCC official will show you a PowerPoint slide with the questions and you'll have to provide an answer orally. The same number of questions and the same time limits apply.

Good luck.

Discover Canada is the main resource. Read the entire book at least once.

In addition to that, prepare using the following:

Notes from Discover Canada and Sample tests.

I don`t know maybe we should request statistics from the government on how many files are processed per month in Halifax CIC in 2021 as part of freedom of information? Or ask Ian Ranking during a press conference instead of drunk diriving charges and further covid restrictions :D I don`t know I ran out of ideas, we already filled a web form and got the standard response due to covid etc. But no movement for 4 months considering in total it`s getting close to 1,5 years is a bit off.

Please let us know what MP will say. I am afraid to bother CIC too much too in case they get pissed of and rejects the file lol :)
Yep, I have been told that some of the folks who tried to question the CICs got their applications delayed (Somehow) .. this is what i don't like, with no visibility people have the tendency to fill the gap and there is no way to confirm or deny it.. it would be great if the Halifax CIC issues a statistic .. number of applications, (standard, complex) %age of where they are at, average cycle age...etc
