Not sure what you mean by urgent? I applied normally, was there such an option as to select for my application to be processed urgently? I've shared my timeline here before, but anyway, here it is again.
Sent application: 2nd of March
Delivered: 9th March
AOR: 1st September
Fingerprints: 8th December
They are giving me 90 days to do it.

I've been PR since 2010 and been procrastinating to apply for citizenship... Not sure why they are asking me to do fingerprints, as I don't have a criminal background, and my name is very unusual.
They are asking for finger print because the one that you had last 2010 from your PR is already expired. FP has 10 years of validity since they introduced the Biometrics. If you never left canada since 2010 and never had done FP at the airport.

Check my ECAS today, and the file is now In Process. Is there a way to when when exactly it went into process? It just says "In Process" on ECAS; nothing more.

When I did that, it redirected me to another page that says, "We received your application for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship) on March 4, 2020." Does that mean it hasn't gone into process yet?

If your file is at "In Process" stage then there should be three lines in ECAS.
The first one will be for the app receiving date, the second will be for AOR, and the third will be for the in-process date.

It must be in process or else it would’ve shown you “in process” on the main page. I think it must be something to do on their end. It could be a glitch in their system?! Don’t worry!

Hello Everyone,

As I checked my ECAS today, my file finally went into "In process" on December 11, 2020. Could someone add the following info. for me please:

Location: Langley, BC
App type: Single
Physical: 1145 days

Thank you! :)

I only see one line which says that they received my application in March. But I have received my AOR, and there's no mention of it.

Well, this has happened with a few other applicants as well. Some of them got it resolved or at least got to know the reason by calling customer care. While you have received the AOR, now there should be two lines. The ECAS updates look like below:
  1. We received your application for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship) on MMM DD, YYYY.
  2. We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s), and a study book called Discover Canada on MMM DD, YYYY.
  3. We started processing your application on MMM DD, YYYY.

Thanks. Maybe I'll wait for one week and then call them if it still is this way.

Hi guys, apologies for not updating my sheet. I had to travel home due to covid emergency and could not check this forum. IRCC claims that my application packet was not received - Canada Post tracking confirmed delivery on March 30th. Is there a number to contact IRCC from OUTSIDE Canada?

What do you suggest that I do? Is there a faint chance that IRCC has NOT YET started to process my application, received on March 30th?

If not, can I submit a new application packet - I am now in my home country due to covid emergency to take care of my mother. Can I submit a new application from my home country explaining the special situation (missing application packet submitted from Canada, and inability to travel to Canada now due to ongoing covid issue)? Please advice as this is such a rare and crazy situation. Appreciate your time.

You can now apply online for citizenship and I do not think that you actually have to be inside Canada at time of application submission.
