IRCC announced on Jan 19, 2020. They will be focusing on CEC applicants. To be safe you want to extend your passport in case you have to apply for BOWP if your application is not approved before May, 2021 when your passport expires.

I have a question regarding calling IRCC.

If I call them multiple times, does it make a bad impression on my application since the officer will see my calling history?
I called them twice and the agent said you called us two weeks ago and nothing has been changed.

How about the processing time of CPC-Nova Scotia? Anyone knows about it?

The last update of my application is Nov 9th for the biometrics. They have not touched my app for more than two months.

My AOR is March 17th 2020, and everything has been passed except security has not been initiated.

Gave biometrics on 16th Oct but still not verified on the account yet. Is there anyone else also waiting for Biometrics updated on profile from Oct 2020?

I gave biometrics on october 15th. It showed up in the portal for me the same day. But it was about a month I think before the call centre agent could tell me that a Notes entry was in acknowledging that they're on file pending review from an officer. Then it took until december 9th for an officer to go in, look at it, and close criminality. It was the first movement on the file since july.

I only call if there is profile update made on my application. Calling does not speed up the processing time of your application.

August AOR getting COPR while March AOR are just forgotten. Living life on pause for so many months. Waiting with no end in sight. Losing time & losing money. This is so sad.

Tbh, I don’t care much at this point. I entered all of the information including UCI and my name.

My situation is the following: my wife and I have a lil baby in our hands and there’s an ongoing global pandemic. All this IRCC nonsense made me doubt if I should stay in the country at all. This treatment of professionals who came here and put a decent amount of trust in the system, worked their ass off and have been patiently waiting is a bad look from any angle. I submitted a complaint that expressed my frustration with the unjust treatment of applicants with AOR received in March 2020 such as myself. I sent a letter to the IRCC Minister and received nothing but an automated reply. Having some intern reply to our emails would be a low-hanging fruit but apparently it’s not in the cards either.

I’m a software dev, COVID has never stopped my work. CIC is a web app and all of the docs are digital, I don’t see why they wouldn’t be able to go through applications all this time. It’s straightforward even when you think about the security implications of WFH. It’s ridiculous.

Leaving the country, breaking the lease, spending a decent amount of money on flights/hotels, risking my family health and going back to our home country would create a shitton of problems and would put our lives at risk as that part of the world doesn’t follow any strict guidelines. I had four distant relatives die in the last six months because of COVID. So, I’m pretty much looking at the last possible actions here to expedite the process.

I know that I can apply for BOWP in a couple of months but it’s stressful knowing that all of it is in the limbo. I’ve been staring at CIC status page for far too long now and totally gave up after I saw their update on Jan 19th.
The bad part is they don't entertain first-come-first-served at all, just this evening I knew someone with AOR Oct 2020 got his/her COPR. I am a CEC Inland and reaching 365 days next week. COVID has never stopped my work. But IRCC just stopped processing AOR Jan-March 2020 for no reason, this is freaking annoying.

For those who have not got their copr yet, we have to take action right now. I have already sent several complain about the backlog of AoR from Jan to April. I know someone who is oct AOR get their COPR today. We have almost identical profiles and we are both CEC- inland. Clearly if we don't do something, IRCC will keep processing the new file, and God knows how long we have to wait. They are keep inviting people and our files will keep pushing behind by the new files!!!

How can we complain about this? I am so mad at their possessing
Since contacting IRCC is not helping, we clearly have to hold them acccountable in another way. CBC news recently did a story on the challenges that immigrants with expired COPRs are facing cause of covid. I’m sure CBC or other news networks would be willing to consider a story about immigration applicants like us and the delays we are facing. This should put our case into more public spotlight and put more pressure on IRCC.
