We just received the invitation to pre-arrival services today (August 3rd). Does this mean anything? Is it good news? We still have not gotten the request for the medical exam.

I am sponsoring my common-law partner, he is Kenyan. Here is our timeline:

Application received: March 27
AOR1: May 4
SA: May 17
Biometrics request: May 16
Biometrics done: May 24
Application transfered to Nairobi visa office: June 11
ECAS we started processing your application: June 18
CSQ (for Quebec) gotten: July 19

Congrats! I think the general consensus is that this signals your eligibility has passed. Possibly still criminality and security and certainly final approval still to come. It's a sign of positive progress though!

Awesome! As lccliff said, the general understanding is that it means they've at least finished up with your partner's eligibility check. From my observations on the forum, people typically get DM a few weeks later, up to maybe 2 months. But I have a feeling that this varies with VO (like most stuff!), so I'd find a thread about the Nairobi office to look at other people's timelines for that.

Hello,

Did someone here sent in any applications end January?
They got mine Jan 30,
Since then I’ve done my medical and paid for my biometrics.
Now when I linked my application online it says I don’t need to do the biometrics and if that changes they will tell me. Is this an error? Will I have to do them eventually?
Does anyone have a timeline for what’s going on with applications sent in at the same time as mine?

Hey, well this is a thread for March 2019 applicants. You can see the January applicants' stories here https://www.canadavisa.com/canada-i...land-application.603766/page-369#post-8049643 :)

Hi. March applicant here. My status on ecas changed to Decision Made. What does that mean? Thanks!
Assuming this is on the PA side? Likely a positive decision. What visa office were you transferred to?

Crossing fingers for the approval. They didn't ask to submit anything aside from biometrics, police clearance, and medical. I'm having anxiety right now.
Don't. If it was a decline, they would have had to give you a chance to change that through an interview. You'll be good to go.
