I received CoPR in the mail today. Heading to Niagara on Sunday. Does anyone have any tips or advice concerning coming through Immigration. Do I need any additional paper work and can my Common Law spouse come with me?

Thanks.

I found this thread that may be of some help to you Finley.
CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Hi zairakim, my husband didn't do the medical upfront either. The Paris VO just requested a document regarding all previous travel in the past 10 yrs. but nothing about the medical...
I'm wondering, should he go ahead and do the medical now even though they haven't requested it yet?
What did you do? Or find out about this?

Any suggestions from others?
Thanks

Meds upfront will always speed things up but doing it after they request is fine. I think in your case, it wouldn't hurt to wait for the request.

With due respect, I've never implied that I was not being patient.

One day they tell me I am approved to be a sponsor, and 2 weeks later, I am not.

Them being vague and inconsistent has nothing to do with me being patient.

And it's 71 days since application received, and I havent heard back regarding sponsorship status. If this is not being patient, then I don't know what is.

You haven't got any mail or email regarding SA or the application is being transfer? The website updates quite slowly and calling is luck depending on who you speak to. If you received AOR2 (these are not time specific, they can be send slow or fast so don't use it to guess time frame) it just mean they are still working on it.

My suggestion is don't hold your breath unless you receive concrete information from the web or mail.

Good luck!

Finally got things clarified. 3rd time's the charm.

Got just informed that SA was approved on May 2nd. And they sent out letter only 2 days ago (Still haven't received it). This timeline makes sense because we got AOR2 on 10th May and 'In Process' on 8th or 9th May.

Thanks CDNPR2014, Sirenane and everyone else who gave advice.

Good luck everyone else.

Hello sirenane. I think its better for us to just wait for the medical request prior to do the medical. As I was advised by the DPM when I called to wait for it so as to prevent any double entry.

not sure about where you apply from... with my wife from Tunisia, the checklist of Africa indicates like this. "PROOF OF MEDICAL EXAMINATION
Include for yourself and each of your family members, proof of completion of the upfront medical
examination from the Panel Physician

so i believe upfront means you submit your application with the medical examination.

Holy cow! Congrats! You're just a little ahead of us, time-wise. Hopefully we're up soon too. Enjoy Niagara, it's so pretty!

Congratulations! I am in the same boat, hopefully it is smooth sailing from here on out!

Thanks Jonnybegood & smr21 ;D

correct me if i was wrong. i think those people who are getting SA very fast are their spouses from the US.
I wonder if it matters where your spouses are; then your CPC-M cases are processed in a different timeline.
who knows.. no SA for me yet.. ECAS PR side shows "application received" still.

Is it normal for Sponsor Side to read: "We sent you correspondence on May XX, 2016 about the decision on your application." under Sponsor side of the application ?
