We have a 1 & 3 year old and my husband just started 12 hour shifts at the hospital. At the end of this longggg day, I suppose if I normally have standard "mom brain" I must now have "mom brain on crack".

And I wouldn't change it for the world. You'll love it once you get there! <3 BUT FIRST IMMIGRATION
Well, when I said I look forward to seeing what it's like I was referring to the new online system, haha :p.

If/when I do have kids, it won't be for quite a few years yet (I won't even be financially ready for at least until I get out of college).

I don't know what's up with Mississauga lately. I called this morning and they told me they're still processing my application. I sent in a case specific enquiry a few weeks ago to add my right of permanent residence fee to my application and I received correspondence about that today, so hopefully we'll get it soon. I'm at 43 days
so dont feel too bad; i am like a week before ya.. at least you are an American eh? you can visit here anytime. i am getting my wife a TRV.. but i heard the chance is slim. ahhhh.

I was telling my MP assistance the other day.. every night my life is like the song from Al Hibbler "Count every star". ps: I know i am so old.. lol.

every night I take BC Ferries and commute home and look at the night sky.. it reminds me this song..

"Count every star in the midnight sky
Count every rose, every firefly
For that's how many times I miss you
Heaven knows I miss you"

but i dont think i am the only one eh? MY MP assistance told me "we dont make the rules!" at least my MP office gonna check my status and get back to me.. i gonna wait for a week.

Yeah, I'm already in Canada on visitor status and I'm very grateful for that. I've had to be apart from my husband and it was very tough. I lived in Bellingham, WA so the fact I was so close, but yet separated by the border was very hard. On bus rides home from work at night I would look out at the northwestern sky towards Vancouver.

As long as she has good ties to her home country I think she has a chance. It's always worth trying.

are you serious? wow..what a small world! i am like across water from ya.. Nanaimo, just a ferry ride. I can even see Bellingham, if i hike a little bid higher. I can see Mt Becker everyday from my living room.. i go to Ham library like every month; cuz they give people free New Yorkers and Harper magazines. i need them for my ferry trips. you heard about all these jokes about us eh? . Bellingham is a lot like my town. college town and friendly people.

lol... you know USPS at Magnolia St? i drop monthly package there to my wife in Tunisia . from Maple Syrup to royal jelly..

i actually consider Bellingham is my second home. i once thought about going to WWU; since it's close to home.. but for us, it costs a lot of money..

good luck with everything!

Well, I'm in Ladner, BC now, but up until November I was in Bellingham.

Lol, I would have my husband bring my sister and I ketchup chips (we both love them) whenever he came to visit. He would buy vanilla coke at the target there and bring it back to Canada.

Yeah, Bellingham is an interesting yet kind of strange place. I actually got married in Bellingham and when we were registering at the county clerk's office in the courthouse in Bellingham the couple in front of us was an American/Canadian couple too ;D. They said it was very common. Our wedding officiant was Canadian too and actually went to visit family in Canada before she came back to marry us.

Well, it's possible you could have seen me I guess. I have darker long red hair and wear glasses. I worked at the Fairhaven Haggen in the deli for a while from last August to November. We would get a lot of Canadian customers in the summer and there was a US border patrol officer who would come in and get food in his uniform.

i am at 50 days now.
I called in yesterday and they said "wait for a letter" which made me nervous (still nervous to be honest). No email and no letter thus far, we just noticed the change today.

you know what? this weekend is the Victoria Day long weekend. Bellis Fair mall has AT PAR SALE.. that means you can use loonie and pay the exactly same amount as the greenback... i might come down.. haha.

I always wonder how VO gonna see my case. yours are pretty straight forward. with mine, i am a Chinese Canadian male and my wife is an Arab female. we are not only interracial; but also intercultural. we met at a party during my family trip back in China, while she was doing her Chinese language studies.

i just mail my wife an invitation to attend my wedding in Nanaimo . cuz we married in Tunis, Tunisia and my parents have never met her before. i really hope attending wedding is a good reason to grant a visitor visa.

good lord we love each others so much, my hood is quite redneck.. i dont even know how i gonna explain this to my wife. like my neighbour's redneck truck has a Confederate State battle flag.. i am not kidding; even in Canada. ahhh. lol..i really wanna see how my neighbour reacts; when he realizes I married to a Muslim lady.

Yes! They have that throughout the summer. I was going to see their showing of the Princess Bride with my husband last fall when he came to visit but there was a huuuge wind storm that knocked out power. Just my luck. They have a movie once a month I think.

also bring him to Boomers burger.

lol.. i just saw this on my fb https://www.bellisfair.com/en/events/at-par-sale-5448.html

bellis fair is having an AT PAR SALE for this Victoria Day long weekend.. if you have loonie, dont use greenbacks. so this way you can save that 30% exchange rate. lol. this is so crazy... this has to be the 1st time i heard Americans celebrate Victoria Day. lol.. maybe WA used to support Redcoat.. joking.

you understand why so many Canadians come down? our housing price is just way too expensive; so nothing is cheap in B.C. My sales tax is 12%. i almost buy nothing here; order everything online and then pick them up at my mailbox over Blaine or stores in Bellingham.
I work for IT job at home; so i dont have to live right in Vancouver. i moved to the Island away from this crazy housing price.

I know dual citizens just live in Blaine or Pt.Roberts and then commute back to Vancouver.

I heard of that. It's a shame that we're broke right now, because it would be nice to take advantage of that sale.

I'm from Alaska originally, so I'm used to a high cost of living and high sales tax (almost all municipalities in Alaska have a local sales tax except Anchorage, even though there isn't a state sales tax). Properties are just as expensive there as well and food is very expensive. In WA I could live on $20 a week of food (not well though). From my experience taxes and cost of living in Alaska ends up being pretty on par with B.C. at least.

I'd love to move to a bit of a more rural area, but I'll be looking into going to University after getting PR and the only university here with my program is in Surrey. The career I'm looking into is pretty much only in the city too.
