i think Japanese citizen does not need a visitor visa to visit Canada. so you should be fine.

Thank you !

I just don't want her to be stopped at the immigration and told to go back to her country until she gets the PR.

well.. depends on the CBSA officers discretion though.. once she mentioned that i am visiting my husband; make sure she has your number with ya. CBSA officer might call u or interviews you too...

the reason why i know this? do you watch "Border Security" on National Geography channel here? you can watch it on youtube too.. they show you how CBSA conducts airport interviews...

But, Is it legal or illegal ?

What I mean is, if she comes here as a visitor while we are waiting for her PR, does she have the right to come or is it illegal ? If it is illegal, they can stop her but will have to release her when I confirm everything with them , right ?

She will need eTA but not visa, It's legal for her to visit her husband or even come for vacation and there in no reason why she should be banned unless misrepresentation or crimes and as she has application in process it's enough to prove that she will go back after her visit.

Just a question, after SA we will be expecting AOR2 right? Are we expecting that to be sent to Sponsor or Principal Applicant's email?

Depending on your visa office and officer, you may not receive any AOR2. If it is sent, it will be sent to the Principal Applicant. The only indication I received from Ottawa VO was, my ECAS added a line saying "We began processing your application on..." and an email requesting missing documents.

well.. she definitely needs some proof that she gonna go back .. obviously I am not CBSA officer; but during the Border Security Show..sometimes they give you a xxx days to leave; if you dont; they put a remove order on ya.. i remember that's even put on British and Australia citizens. although they were coming to see their boyfriend or girlfriend. not sure if married couple means different.

I still believe visitor statues means you come and visit; then leave. if you mention any word like "live", go to school or employment. probably will get you banned.

Finally got my SA letter dated 25th Apr 2016
