Thanks so much for your responses. This Forum is super helpful.

I want to make sure with you guys that I don't need to provide a Canadian tax assessment. I've been living outside of Canada for more than 10 years and so have not paid taxes in Canada. I'm applying outland. I was told to provide my Italian tax assessment. Also, I want to make sure that I don't have to provide my husband's tax assessment. He is the immigrant and I'm the sponsor.

Since spouses don't need to prove income, why do we have to provide tax assessments? I was just wondering that.

We are in the same situation, living outside of Canada for more than 10 years. Since the form was asking for Canadian Tax assessment and it didn't apply, we didn't provide anything. I guess we will see soon enough if that was wrong. :o

We asked an immigration consult and they said to provide the equivalent in our country and a note to explain why we weren't supplying a Canadian assessment. It wasn't an official "this is what you do", it was just a suggestion, just got to hope it's enough :)

There is no minimum income requirement. So attach your Notice of Assessment. You don't need Option-C anymore, just notice of assessment. Rules changed regarding this in Feb 2016.

Btw, I hope you are in Canada right now. If you are a PR, you must be in Canada to sponsor. If you are a citizen, you can be outside of Canada, but must show intent that you will return to Canada when application is approved.

Good luck and feel free to ask away any questions!

Congrats! My applications was received March 18th, so hoping to get it soon as well. Do they send AOR1 to the sponsor and principal applicant, or one or the other?

Thanks :)

We have almost identical timelines, including medical dates. My dates are roughly 7-9 days after yours so I'll know when should I expect to hear back from CIC. Good luck on the journey :)

Btw, when were you able to log into eCAS?

Hello everyone,

I have a question about applying open work permit under sponsorship for my wife, really need some help, please!
I am a PR, we would apply for family sponsorship from outside Canada for my wife, but she is living in Canada with me and she is working here.
Her work permit will expire January 2017. Can she apply for an open work permit after we submit sponsorship application? Or she can only apply for open work permit after the application get approved? What I worry is that if she can apply for work permit under outside Canada application??

Please help me!! Thanks so much!!

Congratulations to you deepax and Varadar!

We also received the AOR1 today! we share a timeline..... ;D ;D
