Hi there,
Firstly, congratulations on getting married ;D I'm also in the first year of marriage, it's a nice feeling!
You will be able to get all of the application forms (sponsorship and immigration) at
cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/fc.asp. The first form you will see is a document checklist for the sponsor, where it specifies that one of the supporting documents you will need to provide (if married) is the marriage certificate, as far as I know this is an important document and if not included could result in your application being returned... delaying the process for you. However, it might help to check with an immigration consultant to confirm this, as they will know for sure.
Also in this checklist it mentions to include a medical certificate
(provided by an approved CIC doctor) along with your application when you first send it. I have read of people on this forum sending it in afterwards, but this is usually if they have forgotten it. Again, you will want to do whatever is least likely to delay your application, or result in you having to appeal. This also applies to the police certificate, it is on the checklist and should be sent off along with the application.
All the sponsorship and immigration forms (along with proof of relationship, proof of intent to remain in Canada, etc.) are all required when you send off the application. This is also something we asked in a meeting with an immigration consultant.
It is worth mentioning that it took us 6 or 7 weeks to get everything together after we arrived back from our honeymoon in January, so it's definitely not an easy or quick task to do! It will be well worth it though!!
Good luck and hope this helps you
