I am from the Fiji Islands. My husband lives in Vancouver and i live in the Fiji Islands. We got married in December. After almost 3 months of compilation, we sent our application on the 1st of March 2016. We did an outland application. I am new to this forum.

In addition, my husband did a courier post, how will we be notified that it has reached CIC.

Also, is there anyone in this forum from the Fiji Islands?

According to the tracking my application was delivered on March 4th, 2016 which was last Friday and was signed for by E.EMAJ.

What should I do now? When will i receive a notification that they have received it.

For January applicants, the average was about 43 days until they received acknowledgement of receipt from CIC. So expect to hear something from CIC in mid April.

Hi, I am just new to this whole process and need some help. I am getting married this Saturday March 12 to a man who lives in the US. I am a Canadian citizen and he is coming here to Canada to marry. He will then return to the US to do an Outland spousal sponsorship. The problem is I don't really know where to start. Can someone give me a list of ALL the exact forms that must be completed along with when they get submitted and when he would do the criminal check and the medical? Also, I know that the medical and criminal check expire and need to be valid during the approval stage so how does time frame work for that? I need a complete list of all forms needed for the whole process from start to finish and when or what do I include in the package I send to them (ie. photos etc). I saw somewhere that someone mentioned something about a letter but don't know what that is about either. Also, do we only do the sponsorship Outland first and then once approved he would move here and then apply for a work permit or can you do them both at the same time?

I am sorry for so many questions but I want to make sure that we do this correctly.Thanks

Just wanted to ask, I'm naturalized Canadian citizen here in Canada, and I got divorced here in canada in 2015, my bf now is filipino and since divorce is not recognize in the Phil, we are planning to get married in Hongkong instead to avoid filing the expensive PETITION FOR RECOGNITION OF FOREIGN DIVORCE. Just wondering if this is possible and if ever manghingi ang Canadian Immigration ng NSO copy ng Marriage Certificate, lalabas po ba still yong previous marriage ko if ever magpakasal po kami sa HK? I'll appreciate any information you can share here.

I tried replying but I am not allowed to post links. (Maybe because I am a new user).

I'd recommend going to CIC website. In there, go on Immigrate -> Apply to Immigrate -> Family Sponsorship -> Sponsor your spouse, partner or dependent children -> Apply. You'll find all forms there.

A few questions to understand complexity of your case: Is this not the first marriage for either of you? Are there any dependent children immigrating too?

As far as work permit goes, your husband won't need to apply for work permit once his application gets approved. He'll be a Permanent Resident, so he doesn't need work permit. Of course, if he wants to come to Canada and work while his application is processing, he will need to apply for work permit separately.
