Hi all,

Just an update on our application. Yesterday we received an email requesting documents. Has anyone else received anything similar?

It has asked us to:
  • confirm address
  • state changes in family composition
  • proof of intent of sponsor (really confused on this one as I have already been approved as a sponsor...do I resend everything they already have?)
  • RPRF Payment (if not already paid)
  • Police certificate (if not already submitted)
  • Medical Exam form (we have already completed the exam and have sent the official receipts of it with our application; is this referring to IMM 1017/'emedical' receipt, as we were told the physician would send the results directly to CIC)

It also states that documents are required within 45 days of the email.

Has anyone else received a similar request to this email? Any pointers will be greatly appreciated!

Hi Canadianinlove and Sa3Sa3,

if you don't mind me asking at which point did they say an interview will be required? I am just wondering if we have passed that stage or not. We have been exchanging emails with CIC to provide additional documents and then got an email (2 weeks ago) that application is now in the queue to be reviewed by the visa officer, is that when they decide if interview is required or not?

thanks

I was actually waiting for AOR2 (Acknowledgement of Receipt from the Visa Office).
We had been waiting 3 1/2 months for some communication.

I sent an email and asked politely but firm - basically, what are you doing with our file and do you even have it!?

The response they sent me the next day was an interview invite. :o :o

Not surprised though.

The fact that they are asking you for documentation might be a good thing. They didn't ask me for anything.

When you receive your notes you will know exactly when the decision of the interview was made. I had the same impression until I found out in my notes that the decision for the intereview was taken very early in the process. They take a lot of time to schedule the interview!

Here you go,

18 May: they received my application
29 May: they sent me a request for additional information and documents
08 June: I sent them the requirements
09 June: the decision for the interview was made "I knew that from the notes"
29 June: I requested a copy of my notes and received them after a month.
31 July: I sent them more information without them asking.
06 Aug: ECAS status was changed to IP
21 Sep: I sent them more updates and asked for a status update
23 Sep: the response came asking me to wait until the interview invitation

That's all

Oh wow... I will post an update when I get my notes.

:)

Would you please share the body of the interview invitation with us. What do they say when they invite for it?

So you'll be having your interview? What's in your notes? Kinda confused. You mean in your notes you'll be having an interview but has not been scheduled yet till now?

That is amazing, do you think there is any particular reason why it went so quickly? I would really love to get there ASAP

3 months and 21 days! Yea, it was so fast we never even checked ECAS. I wasn't going to check it till September (we got the AOR and SA in a timely manner so I wasn't worried about that part).

Damn :( Were you just notified of the interview? Or is that from an email?

Yes. In the notes it says that an interview is recommended.
When I contacted them asking about a status update they asked me to wait until they schedule the interview for me.

Thanks, very interesting how they work... Did they ever ask you send police certificates if you haven't done so already?

That is what they asked for in May 29th.
The police certificate.

Wow, that's very bizarre, basically they asked you to submit those during the first stage of the application - approval of the sponsor...
