What exactly would they be searching my bags for, just out of curiosity?

They are also searching for things that could be construed as criminal activity, They are also looking for people that are bringing in more the $10,000 CAD. There are a lot of prohibited goods that can not be brought into Canada and they are also searching for those items.(seeds and nuts come to mind and as is most fresh foods) They will check scrap books, pictures, laptops, phones etc looking for anything that is not proper and or can be a seen as a security risk to Canada and if you are only a visitor they are looking for items that show you have no intention of leaving after your visit.. Its not just your bags that can be searched but your purse for women, and your wallet for men.. your jacket and pants pockets, and shoes as well. This kind of thorough search is known as a secondary inspection.

Nothing to be worried about unless of course your doing something you shouldn't be.

Chris.

Yeah, see I didn't know about the cards and scrapbook stuff. So thats pretty much all I have to eliminate from my luggage. I'm not making the official move yt, but it's definitely the longest I will have ever been from my family so people are getting dramatic with the cards and gifts right now.

Also --- I'm at 61 days and still no SA

I'm curious: do the customs agents/border security know that you have an application in to the CIC for PR?

Every time I've flown into Toronto-Pearson in the past, I get the usual questions. I don't get my checked luggage until after I'm cleared, so how would they even begin to suspect that you're "moving" vs visiting? It's not as though I'm coming up to the counter with heaps of luggage behind me.

I'll be headed up in 9 days, but I still have yet to even receive an AOR from my recently-submitted app.

Hello everybody!
My spouse applied for sponsor me outland.I was living in Canada, we got married in Canada on Oct 2014 but I left the country for applying outside. Im in BRAZIL now.
CPC received my package on March 3.

My spouse e-cas shows:

Sponsorship
1. We received your application to sponsor XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX on March 3, 2015.

2. We sent you a letter on April 30, 2015 about the decision on your application. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.

Until now we did not receive any e-mail or letter from CPC Mississauga giving results about the SA.
Anybody here that applied at the same day or that have received the message on e-case saying the letter was sent on April 30th have received any letter or e-mail? Is CPC slow for sending the SA?
Can somebody help me with this issue please?

Thank you
