That would be awesome if it was so quick. I wish all applicants can receive their PRR right away. We all share one common pain which is being away from our loves ones.
I know! Hehe just hoping for the best and being positive lol it makes the waiting part more bearable and easier :)

Or maybe they just got it from the internet. Lol :)

Attitude matters and how you treat others depends on your values as well so it shows off who you are. Whether you actually know the word RESPECT in what others wanna do with their lives like being pregnant. Duh?! It's nobody else's business, and the least you wanna do is say something about anything that DOESN'T INVOLVE YOU.

Oh by the way, it's really VERY RUDE to criticize her based on what she wanna do with HER LIFE. :)

There's also nothing wrong with hoping for a faster processing for anybody's application. NOTHING WRONG WITH HOPING FOR THE BEST. :)
Actually this all started when we corrected the wrong information provided to the pregnant applicant. Then they took it personal and said they were banned because we corrected someone else. So Sara just defended her comments. Fair enough in my eyes.

We all know this is stressful. Some of us have been waiting since last year and have been F*ked over by CIC. So I am sorry if I am not to happy to jump on the bandwagon and lie to a pregnant woman. I am not going to tell her that her pregnancy is going to speed up her process when its not true.

If you don't want anyone in your business then don't post it on a public forum.

No one was interested in her pregnancy until someone said it will speed up her process. So if anything the person to blame is the one who provided false information.

I agree with Saria1 and Maria. We were all just trying to correct misinformation. People come here and depend on all of us who have been (or are going through) the process to get information. We want to make sure the information they receive is correct. I also think it was very insensitive to rub it in their faces about how you supposedly got preferential treatment because you are pregnant when Maria has been going through hell, waiting since last September with CIC losing documents and then lying about it. It really rubbed me the wrong way. LLAngel, if someone you know got PR in 4-5 months from Manila when the 80% time was 12 months, it's not because they were pregnant. Even though the 80% statistics say something like 17-18 months now, the majority of applicants (pregnant and not) in Manila VO are getting PR in 5-6 months. Your friend was not special. I have not seen a single document (if you have one, please show me) that states CIC will expedite applications for pregnancy. Anecdotal evidence is not proof.

HOPEFULLY SOON!
LANDED..........
SOONEST POSSIBLE TIME! :D
I pretty much get the point of two sides involved here. Let's all be open minded about the issue.

Facts are indeed facts. it might come from persons whom experienced it first hand, or simply just how things are. Pregnancy really is not a ground to expedite the process of her application, CIC are processing all applications fairly irregardless of our "life baggages". If one experienced a faster processing because of a certain situation. It might be a coincidence. Let's give them the benefit of a doubt.

But on the other hand, this lady is not even claiming that she will get a special treatment because of her situation. Let's not make things complicated people.

What i just found offensive is that some are judging her because of her situation. Let's say false information was given. (I mean it's not even a false information but rather a more opinionated response), that doesn't give us the right to "bash" a person if that's how you would like to say it.

Again, at the end, to maintain a healthy conversation especially on a public forum. Let us all be careful of the information that we give, unless otherwise you've experienced it first hand, or if you have facts before you. Also, let us be mindful of each other's feelings. Let us respect each and everyone's post. Let's not take it on each other "personally". :D

We will all get our turn. All this waiting is stressful enough. Let's give our mind a break. ;)
In all fairness to this forum, it eases my anxiety everytime i see progress from others' application because i know sooner or later it'll be my turn.:)

If you believe she was banned, you're pretty naive...

Is it irresponsible for women nearing 40 to conceive, you ask? Considering the facts that autism rates (affects children born to women of all ages) are much higher than any chance of a 40 yr old woman giving birth to child with a trisomy, I would say no, with a big eye roll. :-\

I stand by it being irresponsible to get pregnant when you know there is a strong possibility that you will be alone during the pregnancy, when you don't want to be alone. It's not the brightest thing to be doing!
OUCH! I am actually 42 and just had a miscarriage of twins in late February. :( I am not taking your comments personally...

We are all under a great amount of stress and frustration going through this process. All I ask is that we continue to support one another. I have been on several forums and everyone likes to speculate and make assumptions as to why some files go through faster than others. Sometimes it is just the way it is. Let's keep positive. Good luck everyone. :D

Hi
I posted a reply to a similar question raised two pages ago. I'll paste it again...

Yes, I applied for a visitor's visa and my application was processed in Nairobi. We have filed our PR application in March and my husband has already been approved as a sponsor.
We read a lot of posts that it's almost impossible to get a visitor's visa while in PR process but there were a few but very encouraging posts that stated otherwise. So we decided to go ahead with the application as we knew the decision would have no impact on the PR process.
Both my husband and I wrote letters explaining our situation. That we are waiting for the decision on my PR application and that my husband has been approved as a sponsor. We added that the waiting time is too long for us to spend away from each other. We also explained that I will not jeopardize my PR application by overstaying in Canada and that I will return to my country before my visa expires. I explained about my job and that I have time to visit my husband during summer vacation.

We included the following documents as supporting documents based on the requirements we found on the check list.
- The letters of explanation
- Notice of Assessment (my husband's)
- My Bank statement
- letter from my employer stating my position and the granted leave of absence for the summer,
- Sponsorship approval letter we received last month,
- Medical examination (this was optional but we included it since I had it done for the PR)
- A flight reservation
- my two old /cancelled passports to show my travel history

I applied through Visa Application Center and made the payment there so the agent included the payment receipt when he packed my passport and the application documents.

My package was not that thick but I believe I gave them all the necessary documents to convince that I will return to my country after my visit. The letter is important to explain the situation too.

Result = a five-year multiple entry visa. This will definitely make the waiting easier.

So go ahead and apply, tell your story nicely :)

Whoa whoa, lets get one thing straight, and I'm sure those who came and made comments directly after me, when I explained autism rates vs trisomy rates, will verify what I quoted and responded to, has been changed. LLangel made a comment about women in their 40's being irresponsible and referred to having a baby born with birth defects. She changed her post, and how her quote was changed in my response, I'd like to know. Can a moderator please explain to me why a quote was allowed to be changed? Can the moderator please go back and find the original post and please post it?

LLAngel asked if it was irresponsible for a woman over 40 to conceive. Sara just explained with facts why it could be irresponsible and dangerous.

LLAngel then went and changed her entire comment and tune after she saw what it did to the thread.

At least we stick by what we have said and don't go around changing stuff.

I haven't changed my comment at all! I could NOT possible change quotes!

You too seem to love drama! It's not my fault you can't seem to understand what I was saying and now after re-reading it...suddenly it seems changed to you!

I refuse to further engage in this nonsense! This process and the wait is stressful enough.

We thought quotes couldn't be changed either. I don't see how two people independently read the same thing from your post.

Either way you are right, this process is stressful enough. Sara and I should know we have been waiting since last year.

Best of luck to everyone.

STILL waiting on SA. Last called on Monday and will call again on this coming Monday if there's no movement. It will be call #4. First one the person said they would send an email, but according to the agent I spoke with they sent the inquiry to the wrong office, then on the next Monday the first agent was completely rude to my wife, saying she shouldn't be calling and to wait three months before calling again...she never even asked for her name or client ID. Then I called and got a nice woman who explained what happened the first time and said she would inquire with Mississauga. I'm getting frustrated for sure..."in process" since April 24 and absolutely nothing since.
