I emailed CEM on May 20, 2015 asking if my application already reached their office and also I informed them about my baby who expiring his visit in the Philippines on July 12, 2015. This is the email MANILIMMIGRATION @ international.gc.ca.
On May 21 they emailed me back stating that my application is on queue for initial review.

And this was the email I received from them.

ROFL, like thats going to happen. CIC doesn't care if you're pregnant and they sure the hell aren't going to speed up an application for that reason. Heck, as far as they are concerned, it could be considered irresponsible to get knocked up when you know you can't be with your spouse for a while.

Well Hi!!!!! I was banned from posting anything here in this forum... just coz u guys bashed me about my pregnancy. I know they wont speed up the processing of my application from day 1 I filled out the forms. Im not gullible to believe what LLAngel said but just kudos for her kind heart. Looks like you think Im ignorant about CIC policies. What you say about me tells about who you guys are not who am I. Funny people. Well just so you know my husband already sent his passport to Manila embassy coz hes now PPR and Im glad coz looks like he's gonna be here before I deliver. Good luck to your applications hope you get a good karma by saying insensitive things to a pregnant lady such as "irresponsible". Im not dumb about my application just so you know as well as dumb about banning me from posting here in this forum.

Wohooooo well pregnant lady here got email from Manila VO requesting for husband's passport, appendix A and appendix B.
I can't believe some people can be so judgemental right away. And I can't believe why I was the one banned from posting here in this forum when I was only asking. People who think they know alot about CIC and bash people who they think are ignorant are the ones who should be banned. Just saying......

Yes, I applied for a visitor's visa and my application was processed in Nairobi. We have filed our PR application in March and my husband has already been approved as a sponsor.
We read a lot of posts that it's almost impossible to get a visitor's visa while in PR process but there were a few but very encouraging posts that stated otherwise. So we decided to go ahead with the application as we knew the decision would have no impact on the PR process.
Both my husband and I wrote letters explaining our situation. That we are waiting for the decision on my PR application and that my husband has been approved as a sponsor. We added that the waiting time is too long for us to spend away from each other. We also explained that I will not jeopardize my PR application by overstaying in Canada and that I will return to my country before my visa expires. I explained about my job and that I have time to visit my husband during summer vacation.

We included the following documents as supporting documents based on the requirements we found on the check list.
- The letters of explanation
- Notice of Assessment (my husband's)
- My Bank statement
- letter from my employer stating my position and the granted leave of absence for the summer,
- Sponsorship approval letter we received last month,
- Medical examination (this was optional but we included it since I had it done for the PR)
- A flight reservation
- my two old /cancelled passports to show my travel history

I applied through Visa Application Center and made the payment there so the agent included the payment receipt when he packed my passport and the application documents.

My package was not that thick but I believe I gave them all the necessary documents to convince that I will return to my country after my visit. The letter is important to explain the situation too.

Result = a five-year multiple entry visa. This will definitely make the waiting easier.

So go ahead and apply, tell your story nicely :)
