Have you sent in your missing documents yet? I was praying nothing would be missing,,but you never know with these things.

Yes to a degree, or as I understand, as in our case specifically, no AOR if application is incomplete, and no SA if a problem with sponsor. You have both so next process is to determine the details of the relationship and whether applicant meets the criteria they have in their heads. I say this in response from the email we received stating we are unable to review your application as such and such is missing/incomplete. So we don't have AOR yet i guess. Anyone can correct me if I am wrong.

nope... ours was incomplete too! still no word if they actually received the requested document (additional family information), and my husband was told last week when he called that it can take 3-4 weeks for a missing document to be added to the application, so he's calling again on monday. since there was only a PO box listed on the request letter, i had to send it USPS, which i can only track as far as getting through customs. I know it arrived in canada on April 17th. Still haven't received my return receipt post card that was suppose to be sent back on arrival. makes me NERVOUS our entire application will be sent back and we'll have to start all over again. Already resubmitted for a new FBI record just in case. At least if we do get it back, i'll know how to make it a better package!
Ah yes I remember now, the additional family form. I sure hope it doesn't take a full month for document to be added. I have read through other posts it can be done in just a week or two. Lets hope for the best. We added a new police clearance just in case as well. Small world.

I noticed there are several of you that are living together in Canada at the moment? Anyone here obtain a TRV for stay in Canada from a visa requirement country? Where an application was made in home country? Just wondering how sucessful you were... If obtain on first try or 2 or 3? We may decide to apply for TRV after SA approval. Appreciate any experiences you have been through.
Hi - This doesn't apply to me. I'm fortunate enough to be here on a work permit. The wait is annoying for me, but I can only imagine how hard it would be if we were living apart.

That brings me to a newbie question - how do I update my profile so it shows my visa office/dates etc? Doesn't seem obvious to me....

Yeah, I'm wondering the same thing. My wife (from a visa needed country) has had 2 or 3 TRVs issued in the past with no problem. We have applied for her PR, and her TRV will expire during the processing period of the PR. Do you think that they will renew the TRV, or will they deny it until the PR processing is finished? I guess that we planned poorly and should have renewed her TRV for another two years before starting the PR process.

Yes, it should be arriving at the intake centre today. And we did submit sponsor questionnaire with original application, but was probably deemed incomplete because I signed and dated it back in june or july when I was here in Thailand. I actually went back to Canada to complete my school studies and they probably found the qsponsor questionnaire form confusing. Just a big overlook on our part. :(

I think i read just a few pages back, people on here are renewing and extending their trv's while PR application is in process. You should have no problem Gumby. One question I have for you: how did you explain and prove the intent to return to country at end of stay?

You mean my wife's intent to leave Canada at the end of our vacation? Well, she has a history of visiting and leaving Canada every summer for the last 6 years. We are both resident in a third country where we work. There is no particular reason for her to stay in Canada, her spouse is outside Canada as is her job, and she has had a resident permit in that third country for a number of years. The only thing in Canada for her at this time is visiting with my family. I don't know, maybe that puts her in a slightly different category than most?

lol I wish there was more to monitor! I hope some people get e-mails today. I'm at 36 days now or something but I'm not planning to call being that so many of you who applied before me haven't heard anything. I'm ok to wait a little while, but still hoping that I hear something before may long.

Thanks for the reply. My wife has visited other countries and has never overstayed her vacation period. But I think it will be hard for us to prove she will return, seeing that we are applying for a PR. We may plan on applying, and expect a refusal, only to then re-apply a 2nd time. In your case, its the same thing, but easier as she has obtained A TRV before in Canada. We just don't want to be apart while waiting 14-20 months for our whole process to finish. I am here with her now, but will return to Canada in July to start my career in a Dental Lab. Anyone else here living with their spouse on a TRV?

I wouldn't even try for one. My husband literally has nothing keeping him in Costa Rica so I know that it will never be approved. We dont own a house down there, only rent. He does odd, temporary jobs that don't pay him more than $3 an hour. Since we've gotten married his family seems to always have their hands out to us for something, so even though his whole family is down there he'd rather get away from that asap. lol For us it would just be a waste of time. I will go down there once I have all the paperwork straightened out after the baby comes and I'm hoping that he'll get his landing visa before my MAT leave is over so that we can come home together. But if not I come home with the baby and he will have to follow afterwards.
