Hello Everybody!

My husband and I filed our application on 03/03/14, and Canada post delivered it on 05/03/14. We will be going through the Ottawa visa office. We will enter our information on the spreadsheet tracker once we have received our spousal sponsorship approval. :

Just waiting for a couple of things to come in the mail and then my application is ready to send. Finally! My story so far had been just horrible and we haven't even applied yet. I will share it with you all when I officially join this thread on the day I finally mail the application. Crossing my fingers for next week and that nothing gets lost in the mail! Random question!
I was generally curious about what you guys included in your immigration package. I have done a lot of research and looking around and had a pretty good idea do what needed to be included. I'd be generally interested in what everyone else used to "prove" your relationship is genuine and continuing. We included all phone records of us calling back and forth ( American and Canadian cell phone bills. ), life insurance statement showing husband as beneficiary, shared credit card and bank account information, sworn in affidavits from family and friends, plane tickets, hotel bookings, apartment lease information, renters insurance addressed to both of us, pictures of our vacations, engagement, wedding, reception, other family functions, letters we wrote to each other, copies of wedding cards, wedding invitation, copies of our gift registries and the gifts received, and picture of our wedding rings w/ explanation on back.

My other question was about my husband's FBI criminal check we requested. We received the FBI summary back the first week of January, and sent out application of the beginning of this month. I read CIC will accept the FBI criminal check that is up to 90 days old. Ours was about 50 days old when we submitted the application is that going to be a problem or should I request another one? Gumby749, you indicated in the Spreadsheet that you already received Stage 1 AOR after only 8 days. Did you do anything special to your application? I ask that because ome of the February folks are still waiting for AOR.

Has anyone else in our March group recieved AOR?

Seems like some of the mid-Feb folks are still waiting - I am Feb 24, but I know some people from the 18th have seen it, although there are people from before that that have not! It's quite the enigma...some weeks CIC is super speedy, some weeks, not so much.

This week so far is quite slow.....no much news in any of the other threads as well..... 2 more days to go lets hope for the best...

This week, Many NDVO's processing time has been revised. few NDVO's have added couple of more months for the processing!

Hi all,
I sent my application to CPC-M on March 10th with UPS, unfortunately UPS changed my address to suite 12oo instead of suite 300. My mail was singed by HASEED by mail room, but it seems the mail room is for the whole building in Mississauga. So I'm really worried whether the mail room guy can deliver my mail to the right room it supposed to....
I have been talking with UPS to ask them check with this Haseed, but until now I've not got any useful information....
anyone has any advice apart from waiting.....

Just an Update

Just received Sponsorship Approval, less than a week after Acknowledgement of Receipt my Mississauga. I'm stunned at how fast it is. DHL delivered the package on 03 March, got AOR on 15 March and Sponsorship Approval on 20 March. Is this sort of speed normal?

The application has now been forwarded to Manila. It will be interesting to see if the speed continues of it there is a bottleneck in Manila.

Special? No, just the usual - stapled a $20.00 bill to every second page, with a $50.00 every 10th page. ;D

Umm, no, the app was fully complete though - medical done, fees paid, etc, etc. We've been married for five years, so have lots of paperwork vouching for marriage legitimacy, and there are no kids, so that simplifies it.

We live in the Middle East, which I'm of two minds about - one way it seems problematic to me as the police checks and what not are damned troublesome, as well as the added burden of proving intent to return to Canada. On the other hand, the screening and visas that we go through for the local residency visas are quite rigorous, and there is no way that non-legitimately married folks get one. Additionally we have travelled a lot in the US (she has a ten year tourist visa there) and EU over the years, for which my wife had to get visas and various biometric checks in addition to the two TRVs she's held for Canada in the past. I don't know whether all of these visas are a hindrance or a help, but they all have me as her sponsor, which helps to indicate marriage legitimacy. Additionally, we have newspaper announcements here publishing name changes, intent to marry and that sort of good stuff (legally required locally), which is further proof of public knowledge of our marriage.

I expect if there are any problems it will be with proof of intent to return to Canada. I do have a contract termination letter from my current employer and a job offer letter from Canada, as well as proof that I have applied to restart my professional licenses in Canada, and statutory declarations from both myself and folks back in Canada that they are aware of our plans to go to New Brunswick- so I hope that it is enough.
