Sorry! I thought the number was the local equivalent to their 1-800 number. Doesn't it reach the same place?

This is not something I know as a fact. I'm just using common sense. When you deal this 613 local number, you can reach a person by dealing 1,1,2...and that is not how the toll free number works. Therefore, I think the 1-800 number goes to help center whereas the 613 goes to a CIC office in Ottawa.

We got our SA today! The letter came in the mail, is dated April 15, but only just came in. Go figure!
Anyway, now the long wait for Australia to come to the party.

After a long 35 days finally got my AOR today. Now just need to get that SA approval and things can really get underway. Hope everyone who is still waiting will here back soon. Even if we are just getting a notification that we have been approved to wait longer haha.

Thank you for the explanation! What number did you use to call them, and where do you find contact information? Is it a concern we haven't received any word about AOR yet??? Now i'm getting nervous. I know that the application has not been sent back to us, so that's promising!

Thanks. Wish updates could be a lot more frequent... OR any change in status should automatically trigger an email so we don't have to keep logging in aimlessly.

I think it only updates once a week, so that might save some of the logging in.
They say "usually Tuesdays" which probably means "check on Friday"

yeah they will update again today , it usually on Thursdays , they didn't last week because of holiday break. Congratulations to all SA's and Aor's . We R in day 34 and still nothing! Fingers crossed

Alright, as soon as they update today, and if the "working on applications received on" date is AFTER March 21st, call them ASAP and tell them you've not heard anything.

Call them again today, tell them it's been 34 days for you and it says 29 days online. Have your receipt number handy. Sometimes you might get a good agent who will help you out. Sometimes you'll have a not so helpful one who'll tell you, "online it says March 18th, so that's what they're processing now" which is really not true..

But give it a shot...But if the date changes today for AFTER March 21st, and you've not heard anything, call them up and they've got no excuse to not look into the matter. Don't get too worried though.

yeah that's what we planned to do , call after it been updated today but like you said it doesn't hurt to try, we are calling them soon even as we wsit for the website to be updated , we might just be lucky .

PLEASE DO NOT ALL CALL THIS NUMBER. If we all call that number, it will no longer be available. Only use that number if your application is well overdue. Remember, this is not a help center number, so let's not over use it.

yeah, don't worry about people calling the number... i got half way through the prompts and got disconnected. Tried twice... it basically connects you to the 888 line, and as we know it doesn't work outside Canada. I am hoping skype or google will be more helpful!

I know this might just sound a little complicated but if you knew someone who was inside of Canada could they not do a three way call between you and the canadian call center number? And the third party could just not say anything. I havent done three way calling in a really long time but I'm sure you can still do it.
