yeah they got my application on mar 11 and i just gor the AOR on Apr 9.
That seems to be the norm. There are a few that are processed super fast, maybe to offset the lengthy ones, to keep the ave of 30 days as posted. You must be anxious and should hear very soon regarding your SA.

I was wondering about the packaging. Mine docs went in one of those DHL "briefcase" boxes rather than an envelope. I was wondering if maybe it didnt' balance nicely on a pile of mail, so it got picked up first. Let's do a survey - those of you with fairly fast processing times, did you use envelopes, or did you use boxes?

I used an envelope.
Great question though!
Of course if it is boxes this month, it might be envelopes the next.

I personally get the image of a large spinning wheel with all our names on it and every so often someone spins it and a new application goes through.

PICK ME! PICK ME!

Well,my application was thick, like 800+pages of the proof of relationship, we provided watsapp ,line, Skype, letters, cards and 40+pics,we stated the time, venue, and people for each pic

Also,if u guys rmb there's a checklist, I put all the documents in order as the checklist showed, I also made a content for the evidence, like p.1-p.10......watsapp conversation from Dec 1,2000 to Mar 30,2014. Stuff like tgat

I did these to make the cic staffs more convenient to work on my application,u guys may try the same method.

Think if u r working in civil, facing on a bunch of messy documents, u might put it aside, right?

Ours was sent in a box as well, it was way too big and heavy for an envelope. We sent hundreds of pages of supporting docs and 300+ pictures and organized each section with a table of contents. 23 days and counting!
Congrats to everyone who has received AOR and SA so far! Hopefully we get good news this week

I think it is important to go for quality over quantity when it comes to submitting the application. What I mean by that is make sure every piece of paper has important value to your application. I sent all the necessary forms, proof of financial support, proof of conversations, and I added a cover letter to every package of document explaining what that document proves. I tried to keep the entire application simple and straight forward.

You are absolutely correct! My lawyer said that the vo are required to read thru all the docs in the package so too much might overwhelmed him/her and cause delay in the processing. We send in everything to her and she condensed everything to what's important and necessary.

I think it's importnt to remember that each case is different. There is probably not one same method of submitting these applications. Ours is in thhe middle, 449 pages, 3.9kg i think. But another aspect of these applications are the visa offices being sent to. Ours is Singapore, 2nd longest in the world. However, a fully detailed and complete application that leaves little to the mind of the vo, would hopefully eliminate the dreaded interview...and hopefully shave off near a year of waiting. Just my two cents and others have reminded me of this on here as well.

I agree. Our package was similar in size to yours. It all depends on the visa office and personal situation.. The more that CIC may see negatively about the application, the more it is on us as a couple to prove to them that the relationship is genuine and sometimes that requires more additional proof. Every one of our pages is important and informative, and including all that we did leaves little to the VO's imagination. Quality over quantity for sure, but sometimes a larger application is necessary if all of it is quality proof that will help with a speedy application and hopefully reduce the need for an interview :)
