Well, Manila VO consistently sends PPR and then "In progress" and then "DM". Their sequence is differently than other VOs. You can check out the Manila VO spreadsheet under name.

ottawa also does PPR, then IP then DM. so manila isn't the "only" visa office that does things that way.

Well I just printed the Checklist and it just ask for the copy of marriage certificate not the original and I send a copy with with a certified translation and they have not requested anything more. So I hope all is good.

correct, not all visa offices require original documents. for the us, only copies are required, except for the police certificate and option c form. if it doesn't specifically state to send an original, then a copy is fine. if your visa office needs something, then they will get in touch. remember, all countries have specific requirements, so not all countries will have the same requirements.

Does anyone know if once you receive the Visa issued if there is a deadline? like does the Visa itself have a deadline??

yes there is a deadline. mine was issued in july and i have till december to land. this is also a few weeks past the anniversary date of my medical, so if your medicals expire within the timeframe, it seems they will give a bit of a grace period. this seems to be consistent with recent COPRs.

According to Page A-2 of this checklist http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/guides/3908e.pdf, you can send "photocopies" of your Birth Certificate and Marriage Certificate. That is for VOs in Latin American countries including Mexico. However, there are other VOs such as the Manila VO which clearly tell you to send original copies of the Marriage Certificate. Why CIC has different rules in different offices is not clear to me.

They did not accept you notarized Marriage Certificate?? Cause I sent mine and they have not said anything about it??

No they didnt :( they asked for the original. 'When original documents are requested, notarised documents are not acceptable"-they mentioned it in the email.

It's nearly a month since I ordered first GCMS notes. However, cheque was deposited on Aug.8. (I mailed in request with cheque). So, I will have to wait a while I think. Just want to see why exactly it took 4 months for SA.

They often email the notes right on the 30-day mark.

@O_guy @ rhcohen2014 I mailed all the required doc today. Do you think they will ask for other doc again or that's all? I think that after the review to my app these docs were the only one missed. Let's hope next step will be PPR ;)

Yes, it makes sense to review the application and request all the documents that are missing at once. So since they only requested that document, hopefully PPR comes next.

Looks good, thanks again..

A quick request for the moderators, could you please update the spreadsheet for us to say "in processing'? Not sure when it was updated on their system, sometime between the end of July and now, but we just noticed today. Also, does anyone know what the usual timeline is to get passports back from Manila if there are no issues? I ask as we are resident in a third country there are visa issues that need to be dealt with here that require a passport.

Hi there OGuy. I gather that you now run a Google docs just for Manila applicants. I have updated my data there as best I could, but the calculated columns didn't work for whatever reason.

Thanks for the new spreadsheet and taking the time to administer it.
