Status is still "Application Received" though.

No update on ECAS is mini because anytime they update your ECAS, that tells you they are looking at your application. I updated your spreadsheet.

I already sent all that with original application. I think they think I am still in Thailand from my recent trip. I will just send proof I am back in Canada. I think the second request, is for those who are not in Canada currently, so they can provide intent. How can I provide intent I am here if I already am? Haha.

Ah possible. I am not even sure how I'd "prove" to them that I intend to move back. It would be difficult to leave the kids behind seeing as they are so young. Hopefully they are happy with what I have already sent them.

i just checked ECAS and it is updated "In Process", Please update the spreadsheet: They started processing my application on August 4, 2014. Rome is a very fast VO!!!

I have a question for you. You received the "In Progress" but you still have not received passport request, is that right? If so, not only is the Rome VO fast, but they go through this process following the right sequence. The Manila VO sends PPR and then several weeks later, "In progress" shows up on your ECAS followed by DM.

@o_guy...thank you yes,they have only changed ECAS in process but i havent received a PPR yet...as i have seen in many cases they follow the right sequence "in process" then "decision made" and then they send you PPR. in very few cases they send you PPR and then later update your ECAS to "decision made".

Well, Manila VO consistently sends PPR and then "In progress" and then "DM". Their sequence is differently than other VOs. You can check out the Manila VO spreadsheet under name.

> Marriage Certificate : provide an original marriage certificate.
> Birth certificate: provide a birth certificate.
> Family certificate: provide a family certificate.

i will try to submit the required documents tomorrow. lets hope they will not postpone sending PPR after i will send the additional documents.
I was just wondering if anyone had this happened to them and how long after the submission we can expect to hear anything?Any input is appreciated.

It depends on which VO you are submitting your application to. Rome VO is one of the faster ones, so just submit the documents and don't worry about it.

This is why it is important to go through the check-list (from the CIC website) and ensure you have all of the requirements the first time you sent the application. All 3 documents which they requested from you are part of the check-list.

Yes I know i have sent notarized copies not the originals when i submitted the app in the beginning...i thought it was the same but i was wrong...

They did not accept you notarized Marriage Certificate?? Cause I sent mine and they have not said anything about it??

I'm finally done with the Canadian background check that was requested before 9/18/2014..I show someone signed for it 8/15/2014. I hope they resume my app before 9/18/2014.

I remember for sure is that the check-list asks for the "original copy" of the marriage certificate and birth certificate. Then they will return all of your original documents upon completion of application process.

Well I just printed the Checklist and it just ask for the copy of marriage certificate not the original and I send a copy with with a certified translation and they have not requested anything more. So I hope all is good.

Does anyone know if once you receive the Visa issued if there is a deadline? like does the Visa itself have a deadline??
