No, you still have to land after you get CoPR, even if you live in Canada already! Don't think that just because they're here already it's all finished.
For the record, I drove down from Toronto to my nearest crossing (queenston/lewiston) today to "land".
At first I did the u-turn before the US customs building, only to be told I need to go back to the US side first and get my "flagpoling letter".
So I did, went through the US line, got pulled aside, and they gave me a letter which said I intended to process immigration forms in Canada.
I then went to the Canada line, presented my letter from the US side, they sent me into the building, I was there for 20 minutes, filled out one last form, signed a couple of bits on my CoPR form and bada bing, bada BOOM I was all landed!
I am now officially a Permanent Resident!!!
