    MARCH 2014 OUTLAND APPLICANTS

I can help, at my borner office I had to cross all the way in - not do a u-turn. The US side gives you a form letter and back you go. That step took 30 minutes for me, 25 of which were sitting in the queue of cars resisting the urge to do a burnout to alleviate everyone's boredom...

You'll be fine. Traffic tickets don't matter - unless they're reckless driving/dangerous driving.

If you mean you were 100 km/h over the limit, you'll need to declare it. If you just mean you were over 100 km/h (like 115 in a 100 zone), you'll be fine.

I did something different. I put my entire household on ebay in one lump post, got like $2,000 and then when I came here just bought two bags of luggage. I'd advocate something similar - especially if your partner is already in Canada and set up.

That is excellent news. Hopefully other things start happening for you guys too. Patience is not a virtue I possess at all, so I feel your pain at how long this has taken.

Seriously mate? You whinge about how long it's taking, which is fair, it's horrible waiting, but then you tie up CIC resources by constantly requesting notes? Why? The notes never have information that can help you in them - they just say what stage is started and when. It's madness to be...

Australian police check - Do I need fingerprint check ?

You won't need the fingerprints. Just get the standard disclosure (immigration) and you'll be fine.

30 days. When you apply for them it says they will arrive in 30 days - that's a legislated time frame they have to meet. They do meet it. GCMS notes take 30 days. Of course, I think that might change in the future with the amount of people sending in a request every week and other such...

For the record, I got my GCMS notes not long ago. They literally have nothing in them except for markers that show when they started looking at each segment. There were no helpful notes at all to pass along sorry guys.

No, you still have to land after you get CoPR, even if you live in Canada already! Don't think that just because they're here already it's all finished. For the record, I drove down from Toronto to my nearest crossing (queenston/lewiston) today to "land". At first I did the u-turn before the...

Just put your Canadian address. That's what I did. Be 100 percent honest, there's no reason not to be.

    Landing for Toronto residents

Hi all, which border crossing did Toronto people use? Are there any where you can walk into the Canadian visa office without having to drive across in to the USA? Was it hard at all? I have my CoPR so I'm hoping to land soon. Cheers!

    MARCH 2014 OUTLAND APPLICANTS

Um, nope. Not sure who the person at CIC was but that's wrong. You get the applicant's UCI when (and if) you get an AOR2 from the visa office (the email that says they received your application). You can't get it any other way - unless the call centre person decides to go digging for you. Or if...
