So much for patience. I (we) just couldn't take it anymore. I purchased my plane ticket last night and i'm going to see my wife. It's been almost 9 months and enough is enough already. I understand process takes time but it's getting too hard. Hopefully she gets her PPR while im there and she can come back with me or i just extend my stay until she gets it. Time for some sweet lovin's ;D I can't wait to see her and maybe take a honeymoon finally. Maybe to Greece and visit our good friend Tom Life is to short to be checking emails, spam folders and ecas status every day hahahahaha.

You are more than welcome to come and visit. I have an extra bedroom with an inflatable double bed you and your wife will be just fine there! My apartment is 10 meters from a 5km long beach with very clear waters.
Don't think about it ...Do it. Belgrade is about 6 hours drive from Thessaloniki

Thank you for the invite Tom we will see how things go. We will actually be in Nis so even closer. I booked for only 20 days so i might extend my stay but the wife has holidays only until the end of june. Your so right about every moment. when i think about it 9 months apart could have had a baby in that time

Well then maybe now is a good time to start for that baby. Look at me,. i am 57 and in 4 months I will be a daddy again after 26 years. Never too late
Nis distance to Thessaloniki is only 406 km. Think about it my offer is open if and when you decide.

I don't think citizens and permanent resident sponsors have different timelines.

Other than being lucky enough to reside in the jurisdiction of a visa office that has a short processing time, the things that can (more often than not) help speed up applications are:

1. Submitting a complete application
2. Paying ALL fees (that means including the RPRF fee) at the beginning
3. Providing photos that conform to CIC's specifications
4. Sponsoring from within Canada (required if you're a permanent resident, helpful if you're a citizen because they won't ask for evidence that the Canadian sponsor intends to move to Canada with the sponsored spouse)
5. Having no criminal record
6. Having children together
7. Having been in a longer-term relationship
8. And a bit of luck / getting a visa officer who is either competent or nice
