if you don't mind where did you get the 8month for 50%

That's from the open data project (http://www.data.gc.ca). They have information through March 31, 2012 available - and this is the same data that is used to post the 80% figure that shows up on CIC's website.

As of March 31, 2012, in the previous 12 months Buffalo had granted 2,520 applications, rejected 128 applications (95% approval rate). Their figures were:

20% were granted in 5 months
30% were granted in 6 months
50% were granted in 8 months
70% were granted in 10 months
80% were granted in 12 months

So my memory was right - 50% in 8 months. :D

Sorry but how to use the site?

If you start at http://www.data.gc.ca, pick "advanced search". Then in the search box type "permanent" and in the Department choose "Citizenship and Immigration Canada". The query will show you dozens of data sets available for permanent residency in both English and French. When you pick one it will allow you to download it. The downloads are Excel spreadsheets and some of them, such as the one for permanent residents by visa office, are multi-tabbed spreadsheets with pull-down menus and detailed information so you can really examine the detailed information.

Good luck!

Morning everyone! We got my wife's medical done yesterday. Since we've already been approved for stage 1, and our application has been collecting dust in Bogota for 3 months now, should we.....

1. Courier copy 2 of the Medical Report sectionA to Mississauga.
2. Upload it electronically with a case specific enquiry.
3. Courier it to Bogota now.
4. Wait to send it anywhere until we receive some kind of communication from the Bogota VO.
5. Any other suggestions.

Thanks!

just an update...the Seoul VO started processing my app August 28th! :)

Hey runningfree,

How's your from app from South Korea going? We submitted my wife's in Feb. and we went through August sending them updated family records, criminal history etc... I think they have everything they need now, we are just waiting to hear back.

Any idea if they will email and tell us that they need the passport for the visa or does that come in the letter they mail out?

Our stats are:
We received your application for permanent residence on February 15, 2012.

We started processing your application on July 31, 2012.

Medical results have been received

Thanks and I hope you guys get it soon!!

Hi Sonny,
My wife got her PP within a week. She got DM on 30th Aug and she got her PP back on 4th Sept.

You should get your PP in this week.

Hey everyone,

I have good news! Finally we have received the DM2! The Beijing VO has had my wife's passport for 34 days (Aug 10th, 2012) and now all we have to do is wait until they send the passport back.

Speaking of which, does anyone have any idea how long before they send the passport? We'd like to buy our air tickets asap.

To everyone else still waiting: Don't give up hope! Be patient and it will happen!
