I thought they kept the same numbers but in Havana they give your file a "B" instead of an "F" and I don't know if the numbers change behind that or not...waiting to find out....not 100% sure ccunnington...just going on hearsay.......!!!

In my case my hubby got a different number in kgn .... i was told that the number sent to me was the electonic number and the B# is the file number
" not sure though because under the uci # that i receved that had my citizenship application info from 15 years ago... so i am thinking that is my number with the canadain Government and the .... the f# is canada's file# for the process and the b# is the vo (kgn) number for the file ??? ??? ??? all so confusing

congrtats to all who have recieved updates and are close to the end of the road
praying for the rest of us that are still in the line up listening to crickets
hopefull now that school has strated student visas are out of the way...VO can focus more on families arghhhhhh

My hubby got a file number that started with "B' as well. I think it's the paper file number that the VO uses. You should still be able to use the numbers that CIC gave you.

Chickie, I'm glad you don't have to wait through the whole process again! That would have been torture.

I also received a e-mail that my application is "met the requirements" on 3 July.
But they show : If you received this communication via email, please note that another copy will not be mailed to you.

Then I check CIC Website show: We sent you a letter on July 3, 2012 about the decision on your application. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.

But until now is I have not received this letter, how can I do?
My emailed letter said "If you received this communication via email, please note that another copy will not be mailed to you."

Thank you to both of you, the waiting is the worst part of it all.

I can feel you...

Just got my letter in the mail approving me as a sponsor was dated Aug 21, 2012. As my wife is from Ohio the new processing office is now:

CPP Ottawa
Case Processing Pilot -Ottawa
NHQ- Centralized Processing Region

It also mentioned: "This visa office was selected based on your relative's home address and the requirements of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.

My question is: What exactly happens next?

Congrats! Now you wait some more haha. Seriously though, there isn't much to do besides wait. Eventually your ECAS will say In Process. That's the next visual step anyway.

Thanks Parker. How longer will the wait be?

Depends on the VO. If it's Ottawa, no one can tell right now since it's so new and so soon after Buffalo closure :(

Parker might have a better crystal ball than the rest of us, but based upon the published numbers, Buffalo was taking 12 months to complete 80% of applications (and something like 8 for 50%). I cannot imagine Ottawa/LA will be faster out of the starting gate than Buffalo was, so realistically, you should expect a wait for anywhere from 6-12 months. You MIGHT be one of the lucky few who get it faster (I think someone received PPR in 3 months) but expecting that is likely to be disappointing.

I figure you'll still be done before I am, though. LOL.
