Hi everyone..

My wife logged in using her UCI number to check her citizenship application status. There my application status is also showing up and it says DECISION MADE in sponsor section. And they also say we sent a letter on 22 June. But we have not received an email on the address we provided on forms.. are they going to send regular mail by post? We checked spam folders too no email to me or my wife from them. Any idea?

Question ----It does not mention the date it was transferrerd or the date they received my application...??? but whtever....party time.....

YEAH!! congratulations pinder123!! that's great, I'm really happy for you, last week you seemed really down, I'm very glad you got approved, must be such a relief!

if they send letter sent June 22nd then it was a letter and no email will follow....hopefully Canada Post is fast.........

CONGRATULATIONS!!!! WOOOHOOO this confirms that some of you are still in mississauga..well that sucks but now you're off to STEP2!!!!

So whats Step 2 now that we're waiting for? The file to be transferred to our respective visa offices? How will we know when tht is done or VO has recieved our app?

At some point you should be able to log in using your UCI and determine the status of your own application. This should include information about transfer to a specific office.

that date of your approval letter is technically the date the file is sent to your respective VO office.....how long it takes to get there is anyone's guess....and each VO is different...some send out AOR's and some don't......

I did my usual futile check to see if there was any information on e-CAS and my sponsor's information still turns up no record (receipt number, DOB, name, etc.) but my own UCI now shows the sponsored application:

We received your application for permanent residence on March 12, 2012.

Medical results have been received.

The application was physically received by CPC-M on March 6, 2012 and I already have a copy of the medical officer's report (I received that in early April.)

It's encouraging to finally see some movement. I don't know if they approved my sponsor or not, but we checked off the "process the application anyway" box (preserving the right of an IAD appeal, of course, not that we have any reason to expect that they wouldn't approve the sponsor.)

I received my sponsorship approval in the mail today. The strange thing, which I have never seen before in this forum at the sponsorship stage, is that they sent back almost all of our original proof as well. I think all of the photographs for sure. It was all just thrown in a disorderly fashion in a box, all mixed together. Boarding tickets mixed with wedding cards mixed with photographs, etc. We don't like the fact that the VO will not have the benefit of the full package of proof on which to base a decision, but oh well, I guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens. Anyway, before people start asking all of the standard questions, here is the information:

Approval came by snail mail (obviously), sent from the Ottawa office.
They received our application on March 16
The letter was dated June 21
No AOR was received
I can log in to ECAS using both of our client IDs, but not any other numbers. For my spouse I used the client ID from a previous TRV application.
My ECAS shows decision made and my spouse's shows application received.

that is strange because I thought is was the VO who really needs that stuff and not CIC.....

Ya that is very odd...if it is the VO thats supposed to verify the validity of the relationship, how can they do that without forwarding the proofs? Doesn't make sense. Or maybe CPP Ottawa is doing that step to help get rid of some backlog?!?

Ordinarily I would say yes, but it's the VO that's supposed to have the expertise on wedding / engagement traditions in various countries, etc. All of our wedding and engagement ceremony photos were sent back as well. There was one large photo that holds special meaning to us, and it's a real photo that we don't have in digital or film format. That wasn't sent back. I hope they didn't throw it out. I'm assuming if they verified the relationship already that they threw out the chat and email logs and other printouts that we sent. Yet another inconsistent mystery with no communication or explanation. A simple one-sentence note in the box would have let us know the reason it wasn't forwarded to the VO. It would have saved us the months of wondering and worrying and self-doubt that we have coming up. I guess we just have to have faith that if it was sent back then it's not required. If we get a letter from the VO in the future asking for more proof or an interview, I'll blow a gasket.
