Hey Everyone,
New to the Forum and wanted to know how I go about changing my profile to reflect my timeline. Under Profile, there doesn't seem to be any options to edit anything besides your password and a security question.
Anyways, my wife is from the US and we did an outbound application. Medical and FBI were done before application was sent in. The application was received on March 5th and my sponsorship was approved May 30th. Our application was supposed to go to Buffalo, but of course that closed and it was instead meant to be sent to LA. No word back until last week and we get an email from Ottawa CPP requesting the FBI certificate and Right of Permanent Residence Fee (requested on August 21st).
The status simply says "In Process" now online. My question is, and I know this probably can't be answered, but what are the next steps in the process and how long should they "typically" take? My wife wants to stay with me during the holidays for a couple of months (about mid-December) regardless of if the PR approval comes in. If she were staying with me in Canada and her passport was requested, does that mean she would have to return home, send in her passport, and then wait from there for the rest of the approval?
Edit - Just read that only a photocopy of her passport will be requested, so that makes things a bit easier for sure. Now, let's say she were visiting and the confirmation of PR came through, would she simply have to leave the country and re-enter so that she could be approved by an Immigration Officer? Is there any time limit on how quickly you can leave and return?
