@ heatspine, hi, I read your advice on ndpadin as he is out of the country like me. My agent abroad had sent a follow up email saying I'm out of the country and urgently need the passports returned to travel back to PH to be with my family. CEM answered back saying that they have received our passports and is in the queue for finalization but did not disclose any time frame concerning the return of passports w/ PR Visa. Do you think this would help to expedite the process? Thank you

Hello po, if up to now you have no news from CEM re the return of your passport, I would suggest rin po to write a letter to CEM yourself kahit handwritten as long as readable, and mailing it via a courier like DHL or Fedex for asap delivery from wherever you are based right now (similar with how the others who have a similar situation did so -- but via LBC though since they are in the Philippines -- and got immediate results it seems). Just don't forget to include your immigration file number (and I guess application category) among other details to write to CEM. Hehe! 8)

You're welcome. Was happy for you when I read your post na DM ka na. haha!
@ heatspine
Yeah, the other forum has quieted down somewhat. Only very few threads appear to be regularly active, unlike before. So lately parang minsan ko na lang rin sya niche-check. Hehe! And indeed, chillax lang muna talaga while waiting to get my passport back (with visa sana, haha!), keeping busy with other things especially since less than 6 months left to go with my visa. It's not really such a long wait anymore as months go by and the wait time gets shorter vs visa expiry or 2nd AOR anniversary... lol...
as long as hindi ako ma-onshore/overseas assignment for work while my passport's still with CEM and it arrives before the end of July (argh).
@ darlove
Hey! Good to know you're in Canada now and had a pretty good landing experience. Borrowing your spelling -- Kongrachuleyshons! Lol! ;D I wish you and your family well too as you move to Calgary.
To all whose passports are now with CEM --
I appreciate it much more now na naka-lusot tayo with our passports now with them after we were sent the PPR with the statement re our visa's expiry. That alone is a blessing already too. Especially knowing how long it's taking for some applicants after us to get their 2nd AOR now or something, or their PPRs after their Meds. And knowing how harder it seems life's gonna get here with the cost of living rising almost every quarter or even less.
Last stage na po tayo in other words, with CEM. We have got this far, a few more weeks again would still be manageable.
Benchmark ko po the anniversary of my 2nd AOR (some time in July) for when I expect to receive at the latest my DM/passport with visa. 'Cause I think it's in this thread that gave a reminder re CEM's stated processing time in the AOR if am not mistaken... It went something like "Applications to this office take 11 months to process". Something like that...
So by "this office" and since it's CEM who emailed the 2nd AOR, my 11 months countdown starts with the date of the 2nd AOR from CEM and not any date from CIO NS. Kaya go go go lang. Darating din po that visa. *crossing fingers* hehe! 8)
