Manila Visa office has been working slower lately, but generally speaking,
around 70% of the cases get finalized in 11 months, 80 % of the cases
are finalized in15 months currently. But around 50% of the cases get
finalized in 9 months.
Processing times keep changing, but that gives you an idea of how long it may take.
We are already waiting for 13 months, it is being slow, but so far we have
not encountered any problem, just the frustration of a process that is slow.

Good luck

My wife has been in Canada with me now since June 25, 2014. We are now talking about having a child. We want to sponsor my wife's cousin to come to Canada to be our Nanny to help out my wife when the baby comes along. Just a simple question, how long does it take to bring a Filipino Nanny if we sponsor her?

you will have to go thorough an agency and she has to meet the requirements
and qualify to be Live in Caregiver. It is not easy....

But depending where she you guys live, you can sponsor her under the Provincial Nominee Program,
But as far as I am aware, Manitoba has that program. She needs to have at least 2 years of Superior
education to qualify.

Hi yukonjames. Yes, then it was transferred to Manila on Oct29,2014. Almost 5 months since it was transferred to Manila. How would you know if it's complicated or straight forward? What's your timeline?

I meant like basic file, known each other quite awhile, no red flags etc..
my timeline is similar to yours, file transferred around November 10-15.. its not easy to get answers out of CIC
I had a government official contact them on my behalf a week ago or so and it is now file is done....

Hi yukonjames. We've known each other since 2007. Got married 2014. We have a 6yo kid. I think that's straight forward. Med's will be expiring April and I don't know what to do. :o :o

Have you contacted your MP, have him or her contact CIC on your behalf. They can contact cic in Canada for update and also contact Manila. I know most say mp has no influence in such matters but when an mp contact the embassy it can possibly get things moving . Most times the embassy won't give you answers but they will reply to an MP

As you said, your case is very straightforward,
you should not worry..
Background checks for some reason are taking a little bit
too long now.... that gives delays to the files....
I am February 2014 applicant and we contacted our MP,
everything is OK with our file. Some files get a Canadian Visa
officer and that is the slow line, If a locally engaged visa office
takes care of the file they are moving much faster. But it seems
to be around 70 or 80 locals working in Manila Visa Office, and
just around 10 Canadian born visa officers, and they seem to have
other things to do, not just Permanent Resident applications.
Just stay cool, your file will move, meanwhile, keep waiting.

If the medicals expire they will ask for re-meds... you take new medicals
and problem solve. Don't Panic... everything will be OK

Hi,

Me and my partner were Nov 2013 applicant. As of Feb 20 our status changed to "In process" and already requested for remed and updated NBI clearance. I have submitted all their requirements and as of today we haven't got any feedback. You think it's advisable to send them a follow up email or just wait? We're almost on our 16th month since we applied, back then the timeline should not get until 14th month.

What do you think? This is really frustrating. :( :( :(

received application Nov.26 2013
sponsor approved and file transferred Jan 2014
more supporting doc requested May 2014 (regarding to settle down in Canada )
Request to re do medical and pay RPRF Mar 21 2015

That is my time line so far

my status on CIC just changed " in process " and "started to process application on March 21st 2015"

seems like getting close to the end (hopefully )
