Hi guys,

Happy Valentines :)

My aunt sent our application (Sponsorship: Other Family Member) to mississauga last December 15, 2014

What would happen next? Will she receive a letter/email regarding the sponsorship approval? How many days/months will that take?

Thank you in advance for the answers :)

My wife just received her Visa and COPR today via courier. Processed at Canadian Embassy in Manila.
Wow we are so surprised, it only took 3 months from the time her application was transferred to Manila to the day she got her Visa.
What a great Valentine's Day gift!!!

Good luck to everyone else still waiting.
For everyones info. I am a Canadian Citizen she is a Philippine Citizen. I think we were fast tracked.

Positive thinking does help!

I think it might be just a bit of luck in which batch the applications fall in sometimes to what is processed.
My wife is Filipino herself and a July 2014 applicant and no updates as yet.

I remember that you have to wait for long time for stage one,
how long was that ? 150 days ??? that is not fast track....

But in any case, thanks God the waiting is over. Congratulations

Correct.
Overall not fast tracked. What I meant was the processing through the Manila office was fast. Only 3 months.
Oh, the other thing is my wife's medical is set to expire on Mar.5, 2015, so probably that had something to do with it.

Yes , it took over 150 days for sponsorship approval. A new record from what I could see.

Thank god the end is in sight.

Thanks and good luck to all.

Thanks for responding, Awesomeg

Will I also receive a letter that sponsorship of my aunt (sponsor) has been approved?
Or is it just her who will receive a letter?

My wife's status has gone to Decision made!

finally!

Great news for you. By the way, did your wife re-due meds? Ours expired in November and we still haven't heard anything.

Heather

Yeah she had to, about 9 months after they expired we got the request.

If we have already sent out passports for our visa, and our medical would expire this May, do we have to do remedical if our passport's still with them?

Yes, Medicals are valid only for one year,
I haven't seen a case where they did not ask for re-med when medicals have expired.
If medicals expire they need to be re-validated.
