You either digress and use his first one (if you can), or tough it out and wait until his second one is all sorted out.
if I used his first one which is his dad surename but his passport is my surename is it possible I don't complicate my application? andhis first registration they put I am married to his dad which is not?

Is anyone else sponsoring a spouse who has already lived in Canada?

My husband lived in Canada for the past 3 years. Should we send in a Canadian Criminal Record check with his application? The CIC website says Canadian CRC's aren't required.

Yes you must send Canadian criminal check with the application. The application tells you to send police certificate of every country that the principal applicant has lived in including the country he currently lives in. If you don't send with the application, they will request later and processing your application will be delayed.

Okay! Thank you!

Is there anyway to send it to the Manila office once it starts processing there? Once we get the application number or uci?

If he enters the Philippines with Canadian Passport will have all the benefits of a Canadian,
and wont need Emigration Clearance, but will have the restrictions of any visitor...
But if enters Philippines with Philippines Passports will need to meet all the requirements
of any Philippines citizen.

Oh I see,I thought were the same timeline, I sent my nbi only in my complete package but if ever they ask my police clearance here in Canada I have already

Yes. We have done the same thing. We included my husband's Korean criminal record check, but not his Canadian. We have his fingerprints digitalized and waiting with the fingerprinting company for a crc request.

Things seem to be quiet in CEM these days no? Maybe end of summer holidays for officers? Hope the (visa approval) pace picks up again soon!

agreed. not seeing any kinda movement.

No you don't. Like the CIC website says, Canadian CRCs are not required. We didn't send one, nor were we asked for one.

That's really awesome to hear. I'm pretty worried about the Canadian CRC. I hear they can take a really long time to get from out of country.

We have digitized prints that we did while we were in Canada, then the company is holding them for if we get a CRC request. Hopefully it works out!

Yes, very little movement in Manila Visa Office...

Just a few cases being moved...
its not like at the beginning of August...when they had a lot of movement
Now, seems that all files are in stand by....
Looks like the Visa Officer took vacations..
this is the second week of little action in Manila Visa Office...

Hope it will get back to normal in September...

Hello everyone,

I just wondered - at what point does Manila generally request an interview, if there will be one?

Our application was received on February 6, 2014. SA a month later. In late July Manila requested additional docs. We have not sent them yet because it takes more than two months to obtain. On Aug 13 our ecas changed to In Process.

I wonder if we still have to worry about being called up for an interview, or if In Process means they've approved of everything (except the additional doc they're waiting for).

Any thoughts?

Remember that they give you a timeframe to submit the documents... if you fail to do it in the prescribed time
they will decide against your application, and deny it...
so, Make sure to contact Manila Visa Office to let them know that the document requested will take longer if that is the case....
communication is very important if you don't want to have any problem....

Yes, if they requested additional documents they still can ask for interview...
in some cases even after they request passport they have requested interview...
so, until you have the visa and confirmation of permanent residence you don't know...

but generally speaking, once they request the passport they don't ask for interview... generally speaking...
but not always...

Hi Awesomeg,

yes, we sent them 20+ pages of proof that we applied for the additional document as soon as we could - copies of the application for police certificate, photos of the xpress post envelope it went out in, a screenshot of Canada Post website confirming delivery, the tracking number for the return envelope, screenshots of the Russian consulate website that says a police certificate takes 2 months to process, etc. Overkill maybe but we're pretty paranoid.

I guess we'll send them additional proof (bank statements and photos from our wedding reception, which took place after we applied for PR) along with the additional document when it comes...

Fingers crossed!
