Thanks, but until VISA in hand not taking anything for granted.
Ours was in process 17 days before DM. You too should be hearing soon.
Once my wife receives VISA, I will book flight over to get CFO sticker and bring her back.
Quick trip hopefully not more than a week stay, then home.
Book your flight Step, you'll be going this week or at least by the weekend. I know PAL has flights leaving Toronto Sundays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Keep us posted, looking forward to hearing you scream out here that your wife has her visa in hand. LOL

PAL flies everyday out of YVR, just a quick hop from here.1 hr flight YYC to YVR. I think I'll play it safe and wait for VISA. I will definitely let you all know when she finally receives VISA.

Question: Hoping someone can help me( wife is driving me nuts, when's VISA coming)
In process May 20,2014.
PPR and Appendix A May29,2014. By phone originally then CIC sent e-mail.
Decision Made June 6,2014.
How long does it usually take for VISA to be issued and the applicant receive?
( I know it's a stupid question, but just trying to get some idea)
Thanks.

hey step that is visa to me... do you check your ecas

Yes, check e-CAS daily since went to in process.

So, am I the only one who sent the criminal record check, medical, and all other documents all at once when I first sent my app/applied? Everyone is always talking about sending in medicals, record checks, but why? Those were supposed to be included in the application packet in the first place, no?

I might have to have my wife get another medical done even though we already sent our's in? ($300 cost)

We sent all of our stuff in together too not knowing there was an expire date on the med. my husband will go ballistic if they request another one!

Oh well, we also thought we would have a six months or so to get it all together before he needs to go to canada to get the visa and that doesn't seem to be the case either. He'll have to do an overnight trip to canada when the papers come in. Another 1500 dollar expense because the govt can't get these processed in a reasonable amount of time.

Yes, phone call May 29, 2014. PPR and Appendix A.
Noticed on E-CAS late on June 6,2014 DM. I had checked E-CAS the morning of June 6, 2014 nothing had changed then.

You have no choice but to send everything in from the start. Outland apps require meds be done upfront.

This is simply a "form response" to your enquiry. It just means that 'yes' they have it and 'yes' it's still waiting to be looked at.

Step....we discovered from our "wrap up" notes...ordered after Landing..that in fact by the time ECAS showed Decision Made...the COPR and Visa had already been shipped..so...there's a possibility that your's is already on its way..
From reading here...when DM is seen on ECAS...some PH partners would start calling DHL to inquire if they had a package for them..I think your partner is in another country...for what its worth maybe she could try calling them?

Oh....she's in PH then? Did you know CFO has locations at the airport in Manila...Terminals One and Two..she can get the sticker there...on her way out of the country right..She just needs to contact them...they'll get her outbound flight info and it can be dealt with then...no special trips to Manila or Cebu necessary..

Japan is Passport exempt, no PPR.

Thanks!
So what I'm confused about is that everyday places a date in the "PPR" column, it seems including Japanese applicants. So, if Japan is passport exempt, what sort of documentation are we waiting for?
I'm just not sure why there are only 3 applicants on the list of 30 from October that have yet to hear anything.

Thx,
GT

"I might have to have my wife get another medical done even though we already sent our's in? ($300 cost)"

Some applicants are granted "extensions" to the validity of the meds...don't ask what the criteria is..sorry there's no real rhyme or reason why..its up to the discretion of the VO that has your file. Hopefully you wont face that scenario..and your app will be completed without problems.

We narrowly missed having a re med done...I started making inquiries about two months before the anniversary and luckily we got the Visa with about three weeks to spare...we found out that the medical info was "misplaced" and wasnt easily available to the VO that had our file...so..our file ended up back in the Registry to collect dust...and if I hadn't started writing it might still be there. I wrote to CEM and made a Specific Case Inquiry relating to expiring meds and when I didn't get ANY response from CEM I started writing...first MY MP...who turned out to be useless... a second MP who declined my request for help...I wrote the "Shadow" Minister for Citizenship and Immigration who didn't even bother to respond...and finally a fourth MP from a Riding that I lived in for eons previous to living at my current address..the FOURTH MP was a charm and they accepted my request for help...within two weeks we had our Visa and it was then we learned about the "missing" medical information that was there all along.

If they're asking for docs to be submitted a second time...I'd suggest that in some cases for sure its because they've gone AWOL and got separated from the original submission. The exception to this is the Appendix A that they almost always ask to be submitted when they make a passport request.

If you're wondering about dates for PPR from Japanese applicants it's probably the date that CEM has requested the Appendix A.
