I never heard of anyone making 80-120k a month in the Philippines?

Its fairly easy to land 80k to 120k salary jobs.. But Depending of what you finished .. Where you studied and how did you do at school.. also how you bargain with the employer before you sign up

Why leave because its not safe there.. Thats the only reason for me .. My dad was kidnapped on his way to his office in makati.. Wouldn't i freak out and leave ph for that reason.. Aint it valid enough.. 80k to 120k is easy to grab .. A cum laude degree in business management + mechanical engineering in dlsu-m that 80k was an entry offer

Im just happy for you guys that probably wont even experience having a family member abducted for ransom

Easy? Really? Please, let me know how so I can relay how to the countless single mom's with 3-4 little kids in tow begging me for money every day. :D All sarcasm aside, even if you work for a corporate multi-national company having a degree, you would have to work for years and years to make that. And you would have to work along side some North American's in the same job and level making triple your salary.

Seriously?? Hahaha oh well .. I dont know .. Didnt had friends that had problem with money .. Im used to being always the one with less money all the time since elementary.. Probably try to get great friends with lots of connections to multinational firms .. Especially those that hires bilingual english/ mandarin they give great entry salary

Well im sorry for that someone ask something i just gave my own opinion.. But yeah i think its hard to live life if you earn less than 80k a month .. Just the electricity bill from meralco is already 10k a month

Probably about 80k to 120k peso a month ..thats for me and i think i belong to middle class when i was back there .. Spending about 300 to 500 for daily meals .. Live on a place with security guards and have a vehicle
God I don't know anyone in the middle class then,,,,teachers only earn 20 to 25,000 army earns 25,000,,,,security quards earn 4,000

I dont know how would you look at poverty?? For me being poor is not being able to have what you want at the moment that you want it..like if you crave for food and you are already thinking you have no money to buy it or budget would be ruin for purchase..

Being on the middle class means you have the money to have things you like ..and still save money .. Since nothing is free in PH .. Getting sick is crazy.. You need to have money to get served and to be treated well.. So i guess if someone earning less would have hard time paying re occuring bills such as electricity water and other bills and housing + health spending

On my case i can afford to have bacon and eggs for breakfast.. Probably thats already lunch for others or they might be lucky if they have it on a weekly basis .. Its kinda hard to have a good life back there but well it always depends how people look at it..

This is just my case and its not general nor for everybody.. Its good to have other respondents
THATS CALLED BEING SPOILED :o :o :o :o I CONSIDER MIDDLE CLASS IN THE PHILS AT 20,000php

Lol tagum .. Yeah that is low if you live in manila .. Your wife lives in davao .. Its not as costly to live there compare to manila .. But security guards for 4k ?? I dont think thats right especially in davao.. For like 120 peso a day you put your life at risk .. Probably more .. But yeah as i said before you're like an angel from heaven to your wife.. You'd pull them out of missery

Lived in manila .. Had 3 houses there one in alabang, another in makati and manila .. I seriously think if you earn 20k a month your poor promise.. 20k a month is like 1k a day salary -huge tax .. You wont be able to pay utilities and other stuffs and have good meals with that .. 20k probably is ok if you dont pay utilities, housing and transportation.. But if you do thats like living paycheck after paycheck and you're dead with debts if you get sick

Like my all time favorite jolibee chicken joy 2 pcs cost 140 peso by now?? Thats 1 meal .. How would a family of 3 afford that if earn only 1k a day .. Probaby share 1 order for the 3 of them .. Thats not fun

Lets say normal family goes for jolibee every sunday after church .. Thats 4 weeks a month .. And probably cost 300 per jolibee lets say that 1200 out of 20k .. Deduct 200 everyday for the food that is cooked at home .. Thats instant 7200 of that 20k then deduct the utilities and transportation.. Then kids tuition fee school requirments and regular check up also kids allowance

LMAO @ your definition of middle class :P :P :P

My guy's family scrapes by on a bunch of small businesses and leased farms. A small money lending business, a small school, a small convenience store, a tricycle for hire. They worked their butts off to build it from nothing. They have a roof over their head and enough chickens in the yard. They can always (barely) make their basic necessities. They don't have aircon and often cook over a fire. They take a motorbike once a week to Tagum city for their weekly shopping.

They are AVERAGE. Considered in their village to be average or doing okay because they are haves instead of have-nots. He says they're middle class and I have to be careful not to say they're poor.. no, the guy who sleeps under the coconut tree and does odd jobs for the family in exchange for food and sleeping in the stick house is poor.

Getting kidnapped for ransom is a privilege reserved for wealthy or for white guys stupid enough to venture into Zamboanga :P :P :P

Sorry to make light of it marjd.. it must have been a terrible experience. However there seems to be a special cloud that upper middle class lives on :D

Yeah I know, that's why you have to keep your yard stocked with KFC.... ON LEGS

I'm also always wondering how people afford to eat if they earn 200 pesos a day and a whole chicken costs 100 pesos in the supermarket.
