Continued...

I used to be a card carrying Reform party member, but this abomination Harper and his cronies have created, is nothing but a shill for big business, and robber barons. <rant off/>

I was once a Progressive Conservative back in the day when that was more like being a Red Tory. Much dissatisfaction from both Tories and Grits has made me a comfortable New Democrat. The NDP have matured much since Broadbent and I would have now problem seeing them with a Federal majority government so long as they don't lose sight of working for the people that vote them to Ottawa instead of the corporations that pay for their free lunches.

Thank you! Waiting for boarding. :D everything's going smooth so far. A guy at cathay put my handcarry bag inside one of my box cause he said it's too heavy :P i was kinda worried they'll ask me to pay extra. So i have 3 checked in baggage, all of them are over 23kg, one is at almost 32kg. I only paid $150 which was supposed to be for the 3rd bag at 23kg only. I got extra legroom seat too, free of charge for manila-hk and for hk-toronto. Lucky day! It's amazing what a smile can do! ;) Hoping it'll go as smooth when I landed. :D

Hey Rosey have you landed? Any problems? How is Toronto?

I hear you there CJG, Provincially and Federally I lean NDP now, including working on the local MLA's campaign here earlier this year.

Better to submit a new NBI, it takes only 10 days to be released.
4 hours only :o :o :o :o :o

Yeah, I think handing in the new NBI will be the best bet. If they get it after deciding then no loss, if they get it before, it should mean they can't turn around and request it with another bring-forward date. My wife ordered and paid for it but it won't be ready for pick up till Aug 1st, so there is still a bit of a wait.

I think I will add your (CJGs) points to the email I am working on. Points 1, 3 and 4 I think cover most of it. My take on point 2 when I was talking with the MP's official was that if I hired anyone, like say, a plumber to fix a leaky pipe and he said 2 days, then I expect the work done in 2 days. If the next day he says 5 days, and then 12 days, then 6 months, well... most people would FIRE that plumber. But of course there is no way to fire immigration because there is no competition (and outsourcing would not fix THAT). And of course there is no agency to force them to do anything if they want to drag their heels.

I also asked where I should I address a letter calling for the creation of an ombudsman for immigration. She said to send it to my MP and he'd get right on it. Ummmmm-no, I don't think that is the right answer. I guess maybe the opposition critics and leaders should get that one. Considering this governments secretive ways I don't see them implementing something like that anytime soon.
my wife has gotten 2 new NBI in the last week the last one only took 2 hours to get so I don't know where people are coming up with 10 days wait

Firstly congrats to those Chiesleve (spelling?) and other who received their visa's!

Scos, I feel your pain to buddy, personally I have little problem with time lines, I have a problem with the arbitrary nature they are applied selectively. 12 months for everyone cool, 6 months for everyone even better. 5 months for this guys, two and half years for that guy, unacceptable.

CJG and other have the right idea, hound 'em, I have started that, and cc everyone else. Good luck to you scos, hopefully some positive movement comes sooner than later.

Hopefully this crap with CIC, will be and extra issue in 2015 to inspire more people to get out and vote these fools out of office.

I agree to an extent. I can understand why a conjugal app with dependents would take longer than a married with none as there is more information to look at and more to verify. But in general like apps should be treated in a like manner. And they most definitely are not.

I was asking the MP rep why my app seemed to be getting ignored all the time. Is it because they don't like the paper I printed it on? Maybe the toner was a little too light for their liking? Maybe the door on the file cabinet they put mine in sticks or the shelf it is on is a little too high to reach? I also mentioned that Facebook picture of with the stacks of applications and said maybe mine is on the bottom and only gets work done on it when everyone on top of mine gets done. In fact that last one would actually explain the pattern of work perfectly. Apart from some laughter no reasonable explanation was given.

That tells me that they have no insight as to how the Embassy works. Its supposed to be based on your locked in date and then rotate every 45 days for review. That obviously isn't the case. I would have said to the MP's immigration assistant "If you do not know how their processing works then why are you in this position?"

My approach has always been to remind them of what their responsibilities are within the system and to what degree the public requires of them. That has always worked for me except when I got a call from the complaints officer who after not being able to assist me began to complain about me to me.

I should have added in my list of things to include that you wish to make a formal complaint and forward it to the office of the Minister of Immigration. I remember reading that entry in my GCMS notes and that is when I first heard from the case manager of CEM.
