I'd just like to say im very happy today, especially knowing that the problem is out in the open and is not concealed now,,,,,because there is a clause stating if medical history is not disclosed a visa can be revoked,,,,i very much appreciate the female doctors as I can tell they very much wish to see the boy immigrate and I can see they are helping as much as they can without jeopardizing themselves,,,so I thank them,,,,maybe that could be a tip for others that maybe a female doctor is more likely to be helpful in immigration than a male doctor,,,,,just my thought on the situation,,,,,thanks for the plusses,,,i don't know why but the + - thing seems important to my wife she is the one who noticed it jump 3 digits LOL,,,,,i don't really care ill take all the - gargamel and blackberry can dish out

Some members here say Ihave a soft heart but its only because the child is precious to me,,,,,,its my wife who has the soft heart to take on the challenge to love and care for this child,,,,she is so special,,,,and I know steph knows what I mean,,,,,me and my wife sacrifice equally for this child,,,he belongs to both of us,,,i have a brother for him here and hopefully we will give him a sister,,,,in kindergarten he is learning about the family unit,,,,,five people on the page he calls them,,,,William,,,annalyn,,,,bebot,,Aisha ,,,nappy,,,he is napoleon

Btw, seniors in manila thread, any suggestion for a travel agent? I have to book our tickets in Manila (not allowed in ME) our point of exit is Manila. Thanks guys.

Also, I'd like to ask a question... When CEM emailed me, they asked for an Appendix A and my passport. But the emailed Appendix A has the photo specs Appendix B included. Now, my husband keeps on telling me to take photos to send. I was like, but they aren't asking for photos. I don't have to send any right?

CP is not that big of a deal here. You should have access to lots of support. My wife's cousin has CP and has been rejected for a visa just to visit her brother in Toronto. I'm hoping we can add additional weight to her next application not that she has more family here. Your son will have a dramatically improved quality of life once he gets here.

send them any way then there is no regret later,,,,most do,,,we did last may 10,2012,,,,they wont slow you down for extra pics but not enuf they will

Goldenkagi.. welcome back to the forum! Everybody seemed to get an appendix A that included photo instructions with no instructions to take a photo. Most people just threw in a couple of photos to be safe.

Good point Tagum and Steph. It's a bit annoying though, why can't they just send the Appendix A without the photo instructions if they don't need any? It's confusing the hell outta alotta people. Folks like me second guess and third guess and XXX guess whether to send in photos or not.

Nevertheless, the "hassle" of having new photos taken and including them... Definitely minuscule compared to the possible anguish caused by a delay due to missing photos. I will be good and head on to the studio for more pictures

That is great news Tagum! Your wife is pretty amazing too. Give her a plus too. And as CJG said there are loads of extra aid and programs for people with CP. Plus the quality of life will be a lot better here.

I would look online at places like Expedia.ca and kayak.com or hipmunk.com to see what the prices are at anyways. If you can't book online then go to a couple travel agency and get their quotes. Your sponsor could even book it here and email u the electronic ticket too. I plan to do this for my wife when she comes

Had another chat with the MP's office. I don't know how you guys got them to actually apply pressure, all mine seems to do is ask for a status, say thank you and that is it.

So I found out that they have my wife's medical and passport (knew that already)
They are working on the application (knew that already)
The NBI has expired (knew that already)
They are "trying to extend" the NBI and as a result have put a 60 day bring forward date on the app. (ok, that is new)

So according to her we are done till mid-September! She will call me back then with an update. When I complained about how ridiculous that was she told me that I was still within the 14-16month processing window. I said "Wait, 14 to 16(!!!) month window? Does that mean when CIC posts the updated times we can expect Manila to be 16 months????". She just said "Possibly. They just told me 14-16 months".

Then I guess to try to comfort me she said my wife should definitely be here for Christmas!!! If that happens then that would mean an app by a Canadian citizen, one married spouse, no dependents, no complications, clean medical history, no legal problems and a ton of relationship proofs, letters from friends and family and all that takes 16 months to process??? I told her if it takes that long I will be emailing EVERYBODY!

I am hoping now that she doesn't know what she is talking about and that it may actually be close to done now. After all, she also told me that my wife HAS to take the COA seminar. I said I thought that was optional but according to her it is mandatory. Well, I checked the embassy site and it IS optional. So I hope she is as wrong about by future timeline as she was about that.

In the meantime, GCMS part 2 is still in process, and I think I will fire off a letter to the embassy. A new NBI should be ready for August 1st (1 year app anniversary!). Though I was told not to send it to them until they ask for it (I guess it might confuse them or something).

Well, maybe time to read something less convoluted and more uplifting. Always wanted to read some Kafka...

Thank you! Waiting for boarding. everything's going smooth so far. A guy at cathay put my handcarry bag inside one of my box cause he said it's too heavy i was kinda worried they'll ask me to pay extra. So i have 3 checked in baggage, all of them are over 23kg, one is at almost 32kg. I only paid $150 which was supposed to be for the 3rd bag at 23kg only. I got extra legroom seat too, free of charge for manila-hk and for hk-toronto. Lucky day! It's amazing what a smile can do! Hoping it'll go as smooth when I landed.

SCOS just send the NBI,,,,its better than waiting,,,,i know from my GCMS they did squidly da to my application from july 25,2012 to june/2013,,,,,it just sat there,,,,,,theres no excuse other than they want people to wait to see if their relationships can hold up to the stress ,,,,they put me under a 120 day bring forward date from feb28 to june25 when they received our information, that supposedly they sent an email aug 1 2012 for.,,,,,,,i know its hard sitting there with your thumb up your ass but once things start moving after September you will feel better,,,i am only at the remed stage but I am completely relieved,,,i can see the light......REMEMBER MY MP EMAILED THEM 3 TIMES AND THE ANSWER WAS ALWAYS THE SAME NEAR THE END OF JUNE AND THAT IS EXCATLY WHAT HAPPENED
