I don't think anyone really wants a long distance relationship. I know I didn't. I had just finished one and she was only in Toronto. If the distance between Winnipeg and Toronto was too far then the distance between Antipolo and Winnipeg would be impossible. In the end you discover it isn't so much the distance between people but the people themselves that can make or break the relationship.

I second that. It takes commitment, conscious effort and sincerity from both parties to make LDR work.

Just to give all an update,,,we have hit a little bump in the road with the medicals, I did expect this but had hoped it wouldn't get complicated,,,,but at least we have control and know what must be done,,,,hopefully Monday we will have some answers,,,,,but I feel we will be delayed now,,,,the little 4-1/2 year old has some physical/neurological problems since birth,,,,and its what extent the neurologist will go to ,,,,,to give his opinion,,,,,,,this could get costly and time consuming but I hope it goes smooth,,,,,anyways at least the doctors will talk to us and we do have control not like waiting for CEM,,,,,,we are off to the 3rd doctor on monday,,,,,its better to have this done now, than doctors asking later in Canada why it was omitted,,,,,,,the original medical the doctor missed most of this, but the child was only 2-1/2 then,,,,,so I am not anticipating being with my wife for our 2nd anniversary now,,,,,i quess Christmas will be our goal.,,,,,, ;) ;) the childs problem are,,,,,he limps with right leg,,,,,right hand has about 25% coordination,,,,,right eye droops,,,,,,and the right side of his skull is deformed slightly,,,,,,,he is still a cheerfull child and loves to laugh and play, using his left hand to do most things, he is learning things slower than other children but he is able to count to 10 and say the alphabet .,,,,This delay does not upset me because I love him and I know I can help him,,,so I can wait.

Underneath that rum drinking, multi posting exterior, there is a soft heart. We knew it all along ;). I to, hope for all of you this does not create some extra unforeseen difficulties or problems with your process. You guys have been strung along, long enough.

it all depends on the neurologist if he requires MRI and other testing to give his prognosis of the problem,,,,i was hoping to have this done in Canada free of charge, but I do understand that testing must be done to rule out disease such such as polio etc etc,,,,,i was more concerned during the 1st medical because then I didn't know about the EXEMPT TO HIGH DEMAND ON THE MEDICAL SYSTEM, which I learned about on the forum, so regardless of the final prognosis he will still get his visa,,,,my wife was willing to leave the child with her sister and omit him from the application but both me and the child bonded together, so I would not have any part of that, my 7 year old and the boy are good friends and both cant wait to meet each other,, im sure my son will get an embrace form him b4 I do when we all meet. My biggest worries are if the testing is backlogged like here in Canada MRI AND CATSCANS take up to 6-8 months if not an emergency. Oh yeah don't forget the $$$$$$$$,,,,I just got the money in place for the plane fair,,,,now this,,,,the 7000 pesos for their 2 medicals may just be like 1 pea in a pod compared to getting this prognosis evaluatuion

Happy Friday everybody! ;)

There were some moves in my application yesterday, so I would like to share it with you all. And I've also got a question...

BTW, my application was submitted in the end of Nov 2012 - SA in the end of Feb 2013 - eCAS changed to "In Process" in the end of April 2013. Since then, I hadn't heard anything from Manila.

Yesterday early afternoon, I sent an email to Manila to follow up with my application. This was actually my second inquiry. I mentioned in the email that my application has been "In Process" for more than 12 weeks now and that my medical is now 1-year-old.

And last evening, I received two emails from different email addresses. One from "RE-Manil" requesting an additional document - Appendix A. And the other was from the email address starting with "Client-update" (it is automated message) regarding medical exam. This email just asked me to check the attachment, which was medical exam instructions and my medical report document.

I believe I am being requested to do another exam since it is now 1-year-old, but just in case I sent an email to "RE-Manil" to ask whether I have to do another exam or not. Because I have read from another forum that when some applicants asked Manila to make sure if they want them to do another exam although they have done one before, Manila said to them "never mind" and proceeded their application without second exam.

Hopefully they'll reply me soon :o

Oh, and about submitting the additional document (Appendix A), is mailing the only option to submit? Since I don't get passport request, I'd like to submit by fax or email... Anybody submitted this document by fax or email before?

I'm really hoping that my application is getting to the end!!!

I echo the comments by Dan. You are really a soft hearted guy. And with all the crap you have put up with I hope this bump in he road is a smooth as possible. I don't think anyone on the forum will leave until your wife and child gets her visas. I am sure when you announce the arrival of the visa a few members will crack a bottle of rum and toast u and your family. Steph will probably havea crab dinner!

Yes, they want you to do another medical. The email address you are referring to is Client-update-mise-a-jour @ cic.gc.ca which is the address I received the new IMM1017 for my wife to get re-tested. You should have a pre-filled IMM1017 to take to the doctor as a PDF attachment.

As for submitting the Appendix A by email you could try, but that could cause delays if they decide they want it on paper. I think your best bet is always to reply the way they want you to so you don't give them an excuse to put your app back "on the shelf".

You will have to redo the medical. You can complain about it but they will still send you to see a panel physician and get your chest X-Ray anyway.

GOOD NEWS,,,,,,,seen neurologist yesterday(Saturday Filipino time),,,,,no testing reqd,,,,600 pesos only for report,,,,bad news is he has cerebral palsy ( Spastic Hemiplegia R),,,,but I quess we knew that he had a brain injury,,,,,but this is something that does not get worse,,,,,,so hopefully by Monday we can set our landing date back to b4 sept 2,,,,,,,,,BUT I CANNOT EXPECT A QUICK TURN AROUND WITH THE REMED LIKE OTHERS, because they will certainly go over the exam of the neurologist and they at CEM can require more details or testing if they want,,,,I'll pray they go over it quickly and ask for no more testing,,,,,but for now I couldn't of asked for any better news waking up this morning
